What an incredible last three weeks to the football season awaits us....tradition and 20 undefeated teams are still alive and in the hunt for one of the six state championship trophies to be awarded.
Four of the six defending champions from a year ago will be playing this weekend for regional championships. Cin St Xavier is gone in DI, and Newark Catholic failed to qualify in DVI.
In DII both defending champion Cin Anderson and runner up Louisville are still playing. In DIII both defending champion Big Walnut and runner up Licking Valley are alive. In DIV defending champ Coldwater is undefeated but faces a VERY tough test this Friday in Kettering Alter, a team the Cavaliers bounced from the playoffs a year ago. Maria Stein Marion Local in DV is defending state champ and the team they beat in last years final, Youngstown Ursuline is also in the hunt. Finally last year's runner up in DVI, Hopewell Loudon continues in week 13.
