If OU still holds a grudge for a kids that was there going on 20 years ago, then that would explain a large part of their problem.

Since that kid "walked out" on OU, Logan has sent 3 kids to Ohio State winning 11 letters, 2 of them were starters on a Rose Bowl Championship team and another was a special teams contributor with 3 pairs of gold pants.

Another kid from Logan OU "passed" on went on to set division II NCAA passing records.

I'm not blaming OU for not recruiting Angle. They make their own decisions, and Solich is doing a nice job.

But your posts is a little bit out of line.

More than out of line -- just blatantly stupid. I could tell you stories of MAJOR problems with kids from Steubenville, Massillon, Canton McKinley, etc and yet............. coaches continue to recruit from the H.S. that had a problem kid. Players are judged on their ability, not on a previous recruit.

One of the dumbest comments made on here yet.

who from logan "walked away" mid season...only player i ever rember going to OU was cosgrove but that wasn't twenty years ago....While Pat is the best QB to ever play at Logan or the SEOAL for that matter bottom line is he isn't D1 material....I don't think many people understand what it takes to play at that level. If he was good enough he would have offers....Time will tell. My bet is he ends up being a solid DII QB......maybe a I AA or whatever they call in now.

Cosgrove was at OU 15 years ago. Notice I said "going on" 20 years.

I would argue that Joey Conrad could have played at the D1 level. Anyone who sets DII NCAA records can usually play at the next level.

klaw.............Angle does have the athletic skill and ability to be D1 talent. At QB, maybe not. He does have the athletic ability and football IQ to contribute in a few positions. I think that when D1 talent is spoken of on here, people automatically have the preconceived notion that D1 means major to semi-major program. There are plenty of D1 schools out there I am sure he could contribute to. However, I don't think that there are any in this area that he fits into their schemes or plans. He will end up somewhere. If the Youngstown State visit is true, lets hope all goes well. They are a solid program and he could possibly get to show his talent against D1 programs since it is becoming more popular for a D1 program to schedule 1-AA schools.

We will just have to agree to disagree. I think Pat has a better shot as a QB at the DI level rather than another postion. Size/speed/quickness just not there for a position switch. Pat is a great kid who deserves to play QB somewhere in college....whether it is I AA or D II quarterback is his position. YSU, if true, would be great. Also Edinboro is a very nice DII program. I beleive Brian Lambert and Curtis Rose both had excellent careers at Edinboro.

Curtis Rose. Couldn't remember his name , but saw him play for Edinboro. Was a starter at OG for them. He had a very good game for D-II Boro vs I-AA Youngstown St.

If interested, this is the most popular fan site for YSU

successful Youngstown State University visit. they want him, they are giving him a few days to decide but all he has to do is call to let them know he's verbally committing.

Thats good. It validates my recommendations to YSU. Having never met the new coach before, I sent him recommendations and bios on several players in an e-mail. After talking with him and reviewing film, he was interested in all of them.

Good to hear! I know Patrick's name was mentioned to the old regime, but, glad to know he is being offered now. Would be good to have another SEOAL athlete there to pull for! Good luck in your decision making Patrick. :122245

Congrats Pat!!! I am sure there will be some Logan fans making the trip to Youngstown to watch a game or two. I know that Pat is the 2nd QB to commit to YSU. I don't know much about the other QB besides he is the son of the New Mexico University head football coach and that he is a 2 star prospect (on most sites). Show the "star" New Mexico boy what Ohio football is all about. Make SEO, the SEOAL, and Logan proud! You will get your chance to show your skills against at least 1 D1 school a year, starting with Penn State this fall.

Hey guys biggest YSU fan in the world here. I go to all games home and away. I can't wait to see Pat in a YSU jersey.

But let's get one thing straight this Paladin guy had nothing to do with getting Pat to YSU. The kid did it on his own. Paladin is more of an annoyance then a YSU fan. Wants to be close to the YSU football program but no coach would ever allow him. Just wanted to let you know this since Paladin seems to be beating his chest about getting him there.

Don't let this guy fool you. Pat his school and coaches did this together. I hope he wins YSU 4 more National Championships!

It's all about the Y!

YSU is better than a poke in the eye. j/k :aaaaa92

Congrats to Patrick Angle, make Logan proud. :aaaaa56

edit : I glanced at the roster, I like Pat's chances at QB. The O.C./ QB coach is Shane Montgomery from Miami, O. , He coached Betts and Big Ben. The sky is the limit.

Congrats. Good opportunity at YSU. Heres the competition at YSU at QB --

last years recruit was Kurt Hess from Dayton Chaminade who was red-shirted
http://ysusports.com/football/bios/hess.htm

he should be considered the heir apparent as the only other QB on the roster was a walk-on from Hubbard and a partial schollie from Poland.

Locksley played and was an all star player in Champaign, Ill while his Dad was an assist coach at Illinois. After his Jr. year they moved to Alberquerque for the NMU job. There he only played 4 games his Sr. season before having his season end with injury. He needed surgery to mend.

I'm not sure if they will look at any other QBs to come in. It will be a very competitve position.

My post is no more out of line than the drivel you guys are spouting! We went through this with Conrad, yeah he set DII records, but news flash, that is not DI. Do your math as well Cosgrove quiting was not 20 years ago, and your OSU count goes back further than Cosgrove.

On another note, I did not say that Cosgrove quiting was/is the reason OU is not taking Angle. Frank and the boys don't even know who Cosgrove is. They did not take Angle because they do not think he can play QB at that level. And quess what, neither does the other 118 DI teams as of yet!!!!!

Thank you all for not paying attention to Paladin. Log onto any YSU message board and you will soon agree with all YSU fans opinion on this Paladin guy. He is actually taking credit for getting Angle here. What a joke!

Anyway I invite any of Pats relatives or friends to flip burgers and have a beer with us at any game this season.

Actually Mike, Pat got himself a schollie at YSU. All I did was talk to Wolf in recommending him as a prospect, getting his attention. Your B.S. is as bad as your Right Wing politics.

BTW, Wolf also liked the other players I recommended. However, they accepted schollies elsewhere. Can't win them all.

I will attest to the great tailgate food on the YSU lots! Can't wait to tailgate again with all the parents (and friends we drag from Ironton) we've met while Andy's been there. Great atmosphere!

Tell Pat to get all the Under Armour Cold Gear packed, it's a different breed of cold up there!

Do your math.

Cosgrove was at Ohio U. from about 95-96 (15 years ago, note, I said GOING ON 20 years) while Jackson and Burris were at Ohio state from 92-96 and 94-98. Neither of those would "precede" Cosgrove.

The elite players in division II (of which Conrad was one) could play at the lower level D1 schools. If you don't believe that, take a look at NFL rosters.
