Re: 2/21 Lynchburg-Clay v Nelsonville-York

Not sure if NY has a true post player, but that seemed to be the biggest weakness of LC against Ironton.

Re: 2/23 Fairland v Wheelersburg

Burg has 5 solid ball handlers and the outside shooting has been very good all year. This should be a good game, but I will take the Lady Pirates by 8. Guard play will be the difference.

Re: Wheelersburg vs South Webster, 2/12/19

I think the difference in the game was the guard play. SW was able to get some scoring from their guards, but ball handling and getting back on defense were both a struggle all night. It seemed that every SW missed shot was an immediate fast break opportunity for Burg.

Re: Wheelersburg vs South Webster, 2/12/19

The first matchup had SW being very pumped up.....Blevins had just returned and it was on their home court. They gave Burg a heck of a game, but still wasn't able to pull off the W. I honestly don't know if SW can play better then they did that night. I will take Burg by 15. Over/under on dunks this...

Re: Oak Hill @ Waverly 2/12

This game is for 2nd place in the SOC2. Winner gets a couple more players recognized on the all conference teams. Oak Hill has won 6 in a row and seem to be more consistent right now, but Waverly already won @ OH, so this should be a close one. If Waverly hits their free throws, they win by 6, but ...

ive been saying it about hughes and sturgill for 2or 3 years now. both special ladies who would be neck and neck talent wise, i said in a previous post i give the edge to sturgill because she plays for the better team and coach.
Who would you give the edge to now?

Re: An overlooked stat, (offensive fouls taken)

I'll bet money JJ Truitt has the most. Hasn't been a game in all 20 games this season he hasn't taken at least one charge. I'd say his charge count is over or near 30. JJ was the first player that came to mind when I saw this topic. I would guess he is averaging 1.5-2 charges per game. I know he ha...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Waverly, Friday, 2/1/19

In the first contest, Waverly tried 3 different players guarding Holden and I am pretty sure all 3 had 2 fouls each by halftime. I think the strategy was to make him score from the line. The only problem is that Holden is shooting around 75-80% from the line this year. Waverly will have to try and s...

Sorry, I thought it might be something to that effect. Being that close to Circleville and even Fairfield Union just seems a little strange to me. No doubt I don't really understand how they place teams the way they do. ... nothing to be sorry about ... Fort Frye is like right next to Waterford BUT...

Re: Holden goes for 50 X2

I remember not too long ago there were an abundance of posters saying Holden was better at football and should Perdue a scholarship on the turf!! Lol He had multiple offers in both. I think the argument was that there are a lot more 6'6" basketball players like him than there are receivers with tha...

That exception doesn't apply to him. They do have a team. I completely understand that their team is not competitive and doesn't enter the tournament, but he is a sophomore and the article reads like this has been the case for several years. Why didn't he transfer sooner? At any rate, he does have 2...

Re: The future of grass fields

From my understanding, if schools set aside the same amount of money they spend for maintaining the field (labor, fuel, gas, mower maintenance, fertilizer, seed, water, paint, etc) they can easily afford the replacement of turf after its 10 year life. The major issue is the initial investment, but i...

Unless someone steps up as the third scorer for the Oaks, they are going to struggle. Hammond and Darby can have 25 each but unless someone else has 15 or more, the result will be the same

The weird thing for points, do you count pre consolidation stats? Athens careers leader should be Roger Bentley but he played 3 years at Chauncey and 1 at Athens
I think they should count. Maybe an asterisk beside it with the consolidation note, but 1,000 is 1,000
