Re: underdog teams to be on watch for?

I think teams shouldn't look past Waverly this year. They're going to win more games than people give them credit for. They have a lot of speed and get after it defensively. Definitely a fun team to watch this year.

Re: WAVERLY BASKETBALL

Without any size until the rhinehart kid gets back. Waverly will be lucky to win any soc2 games. Size didn't seem to matter when the Tigers split with Portsmouth on Tuesday... Don't sell these Tigers short (no pun intended), they are going to surprise teams with their speed and outside shooting abi...

Re: waverly basketball 2014

Waverly played well in the summer with Jake Henderson at the 1, Heibel at the 2, Knicely at the 3, Gilbert at the 4 and Heffner at the 5 with Joe Henderson, Mason Chapman and a Catman coming off the bench. Tigers could go deep this year especially when they get Rinehart back. The Kottenbrook kid is ...

Re: waverly basketball 2014

I saw Waverly at the Waverly Summer Shootout, and my Trojans barely beat the Tigers. Although I think that Valley is the prohibitive favorite in SOC II, I think Waverly will win their share of games. I was most impressed with their PG.......he has a nice all around game. I believe he is a senior. T...

Week 5: Coal Grove at Waverly

Waverly is coming off an offensive outburst against Alexander, defense needs to improve and stop Coal Grove's running game. Any thoughts???

Don't count out the 8th grade class coming in from Waverly. They lost to Minford in double overtime and also Wheelersburg in overtime. They semm to be getting better and better as they move on.

Re: Local (P.V.C/T.V.C/ECOL) players playing AAU/OYB ball

There is a local 8th grade team named Southeast Stars made up of players from Waverly, Eastern, Valley, Minford, Wheelersburg and Gallia Academy who took first place at last weekends OYB Gale Hoop tournament in Lancaster. Good team with alot of talent.

Waverly 7th and 8th grade teams both won at Oak Hill last night. Great win for the 8th grade team after losing a double overtime thriller to Burg the night before.

Some 7th grade talent coming up...

Rolfe from Valley - very talented
Rowe from Eastern - strong
Henderson twins from Waverly - aggressive

i've seen several other 7th graders play and were talented, just can't remember their names...

Re: Best Big Men in Area

These are all good big men but it's hard not to include the trio from Waverly of Derek Roback, Harrison Martin and Jake Kretzer. Roback has twice this year shut down Stegman as well as other big men in the SOC. Martin is a force on the inside scoring with his ability to score with either hand and Kr...

Re: Waverly vs. Northwest 1/19/10

If Waverly comes out with the same intensity as they did at West, I see Northwest having trouble stopping them. Northwest is not a team to take lightly and this should be a good test for the Tigers tonight. I'll take Waverly in a close one.
