Re: D4 Sectional Girls Northwest outlook and seeds
Webster over New Boston 56-55 tonight. That should move them up in seeding despite a lesser record I would imagine.

Re: Jr. High Girls basketball 2016/17
Jackson has an outstanding 7th grade PG (Webb) and good 8th grade all around player with height (Evans). They're both impressive and will probably make an impact the minute they set foot in high school. Nice talent.

Re: SOC 1 and 2 Predictions and Thoughts
Oak Hill had a really good 8th grade guard that should be a freshman. As for Ruby, that gives Burg an entirely different look if she is on the court. In fact, I would strongly urge any parent of a young girl that wants to learn how to play defense to come watch Ruby. It's a clinic in fundamentals of...

Re: SOC 1 and 2 Predictions and Thoughts
Minford is the favorite in SOC 2 as previously mentioned. If Ruby doesn't play for Burg then that is huge with Holden graduating. SW graduated 5 seniors and 4 starters. It's a rebuilding year but they have D1 recruit Ellie Jo Johnson so they could be a surprise by Christmas or so. Oak Hill is a cont...

Re: 7th Grade Boys Basketball
The kid is comfortably at Webster. The mother had him playing on other teams growing up solely to play more games, with no intention of transferring. South Webster 7th and 8th grade will both be very good. Truitt is probably the best 8th grader in the county, and Zimmerman is one of the best 7th gr...

Re: IRONTON VS. COLUMBUS AFRICENTRIC---YOUR THOUGHTS
COLUMBUS AFRICENTRIC is a beast, who seems to gather players as well if not better than most private schools. Good season Ironton. It's a tax payer funded private school. I laugh every time I read the name. How in the world that is even legal is beyond me. It's a reincarnation of the old Cincinnati ...

Re: Waterford vs South Webster--Regional semi-final
Waterford is a deep, fundamental, selfless team. Just a machine. You could take their game tapes and show young basketball players how to play. I think the best D1 prospect is Coach Close. He has built a powerhouse. As mentioned, no D1 signees yet, but every girl can handle, pass, shoot, and probabl...

March/April Basketball League?
Does anyone know of any elementary girls basketball leagues that run during the months of March and April? Our teams would prefer near Scioto Co. but can travel a reasonable distance if necessary.

Locally, Ironton beat Portsmouth 84-11. Not quite 108-1, but pretty close.

I know hindsight is 20/20 but Rock Hill over Eastern? Eastern is pretty solid if Day is healthy.

Sometimes it takes patience and dedication to be part of something bigger than yourself. Like the quote from the movie "White Men Cant Jump", would you rather "look good and lose or look bad and win". I've watched Hale and Johnson quite a bit over the years and both know basketba...

Re: Using profanity in coaching
The coach should be the role model. You can make your point without cursing. Just because old school guys cursed for years doesn't make it acceptable. They were just wrong for longer.

#10 for Valley would start for their varsity right now. Complete guard with obviously some good coaching along the way.
