Does anyone think either of these teams have a chance vs Ironton? Wish they both did but I doubt it unfortunately

SOC2 1. Alaina Keeney from Burg 2. Bri Claxton from Webster 3. Kelli Stewart from Waverly Same 3 here but Claxon ahead of Keeney I agree with you, kram. Claxon is also my #1 for SOC II POY. Yes. I am surprised this is even a debate. Claxon guards the other teams best player more times than not, is ...

Re: South Webster Vs Coal Grove

I think Coal Grove comes in as the favorite if they don't get distracted by those goofy "Roll Coal" signs all over town. Who came up with that? Is that some poor Bama reference right in the middle of Buckeye country? Was "Go Big Grove" too expensive to print up on signs? Talented...

Re: New Boston Glenwood Lady Tigers

Minford 8th grade was still bombing 3's and running up close to 50 points Monday. They got to 68 points and they were pressing under 30 seconds to go trying to score 70. As far as New Boston. Doesn't surprise me. From what I've seen most of the stuff in these posts is correct and I'm really surpris...

Re: 2017 Boys Southeast District schedules, scores, etc.

I don't have a dog in the fight, but the ref in the NW NA game was horrible. He got his feelings hurt apparently when a kid questioned his authority (insert Cartman from South Park here lol) and then went on to go nuts on the NA team with cards. He was often out of position anyway because of his obv...

Re: Tournament Refs vs Regular Season Refs

Question: Do you want to see a game with 40-50 fouls called or a game with 10-20 fouls called and Flow of the game is a lot better?? See, Fans want this: If it's too rough they want every ticky tack call to be called. However, Refs call it this way, then they start yelling to let them play. Happens...

Re: Tournament Refs vs Regular Season Refs

I think this is true. I also think it's worse in girls basketball. Way too much reaching, grabbing, pushing, holding, etc. A boys game is so much cleaner with less fouls being called. I think it starts at the lower levels where apparently refs don't think girls are talented enough to play by the actu...

Re: Your School's Most Memorable Winning Shot In Tournament Play

That 1982 Sectional final was one the best games I ever watched and there were several battles in the 70s and 80s at Portsmouth for Sectional Titles. That Burg Team was the first to make it to Columbus and had Paul Newman along with Walke and Staker. They defeated Martins Ferry in the Regional Fina...

AAU Program

Looking for a little help for my daughter in finding a competitive 6th grade through High School AAU program. I would like for her to play against better players than just the local leagues and tournaments. As a coach, I know that to get better sometimes you need to face better competition both in p...
