If they are D3. They should be the favorite to win the region

Well, they could be in the same boat as Wheelersburg and have to beat a very good Central District Team, usually Harvest Prep or Affrecentric

I heard the other day that ZT possibly could be moving D3 next year. I could have heard wrong but seemed like a reliable source.

Re: Regional Final: Wheelersburg vs Harvest Prep

Burg got the game they needed from prep but just unable to pull it out. Prep didn't score in the 2nd and burg only put up 6 you can't do that with superior teams. Burg had a great season and those seniors should be proud of their accomplishments. HP HAD 2 points in the 2nd quarter 21 - 12 after 1 2...

Re: Regional Final: Wheelersburg vs Harvest Prep

What happened to McCorkle in the 2nd half? Thought he gave them good minutes in the 1st half and gave them that extra inside presence. He played the 2nd qtr and HP did not score. I know it wasn't all him but he gave them good minutes.

Re: The State of Officiating... serious questions. Discuss.

Thanks baseball16 for your analysis. I guess my point was, and I have a thousand examples of game past, that I can't directly point to either inconsistency, bias, and/or crappy performance. Maybe when I have more time, I can list a few. But, it remains, how do we get that "5%" as you said, on the s...

Re: The State of Officiating... serious questions. Discuss.

Hawkeye: To answer your question (s). I think the State of officiating is very good in SE Ohio. With the New Tournament Evaluations in place, it has made a difference in my game and How I call it. Sometimes I was in the wrong position and evaluator told me to move to this position. Things I never th...

Re: Head Coaching Vacancies

Supplementals in all Public Schools are renewed/nonrenewed every school year. There are technically no 2, 3 or 4-year contracts. There might be a verbal agreement but if you are a school employee you must apply every year. If a teacher does not apply and that job is open then they open it up to the ...

I think the ref in question is just being used as an example for all refs in the tournaments. It has def. got my attention. Trust me, I guarantee 75% or more officials have not enforced uniform policies in the Reg. Season. I bet that number goes down in the future! LOL IF OHSAA takes games away from...

Re: The State of Officiating... serious questions. Discuss.

I will give you my perspective as an official. Some will like and some will not. But hey that's the life of an official, 50% happy about the call while the other 50% is mad. I show up with two guys I have been working together with for over 5 years. I am pretty biased when I say I think we do a pret...

Re: Convo 3/3 7:15PM Whiteoak vs Waterford

I know in baseball the umpire asks if everyone is properly equipped and legal? As a coach, I would have to say yes. If a player after that was not properly equipped the player could be removed or ejected. It was on me as coach to make sure. All I am saying is coaches know what is legal and what is n...

Re: Convo 3/3 7:15PM Whiteoak vs Waterford

Whiteoak was considered the home team (Top team on the Bracket). Home team is required to wear White Uniforms (OHSAA, NFHS rule). They were wearing Orange. Not sure what else transpired from there but neither team changed. So it was Orange vs. Green. However, State looked into it. Again, I am not su...

Re: Covo 3/1 8:00PM Jackson v Warren

Referees did a nice job. Our crew had a better game than Waverly/Sheridan game. I’ve watched a lot of tournament games so far and refs have been nicely consistent. Charges are hard to come by, you better be strong underneath....but not Wav/Sheridan game. Interesting Side Note on the First Game, 2 o...

yea, not sure why Ohio State would not be considered, or maybe it was. Dayton Dragons home field would be a good alternative as well. Going clear to Akron is out for me! Baseball State Finals is not the heaviest attended games, so I am sure having it moved to Akron will hurt attendance even more so!

There could be all kinds of "recycled" names come out for this job. Barrick, Shoemaker, Persin, and let me throw another one out there. Jordan?

6 minutes from tip here in Meigs for Coal Grove vs Federal Hocking. First time here, small gym.
For the life of me I can't figure out why these D4 games are not played at Wellston, Gallia Academy , or Even Athens. Gyms that would probably be easier on holding the crowds!

Re: Oak Hill Football

Was oak hill forced to move up to the soc 2 or was it a mutual decision? Moving to SOC 2 had a lot to do with Western coming in for football. Someone had to move up to balance the scale. Northwest just dropped a couple of years ago and Oak Hill has really outgrown the SOC 1. It was time. It will be...

Re: Tournament Time...Referees

I don't know if people know this or not, but officials have been evaluated in almost 95% of the Tournament games in SE Ohio the past 2 years. This to me has been very helpful. Evaluators never question 50 /50 calls. They evaluate Refs on mechanics, professionalism, positioning, and anything else the...
