Re: ‘Racial Slurs’ Leads To School Leaving Athletic Conference

While I have no sympathy for those who are easily offended, triggered, or woke, there should be no tolerance of racial epithets in this day and age.

Re: The State of High School Sports

High School Sports have changed drastically since I played, some good things and some not so good things. The not so good things are causing problems. I made a list of my pet peeves for discussion. 1. Youth Sports - To me this is where some of these problems arise. It should more like playing each ...

Re: Alabama & Monongah WV

Hardscrabble roots, old school coaching, salt tablets and no water ( I remember those days also). After a loss to "AA" Ceredo-Kenova and Coach Carl Ward in 1967 and quarterbacking the 1968 State 'A' championship game against Paden City It's been all uphill and he's not done yet. Good article. https...

The final shoe has dropped in Ryan Days assistant coach house cleaning. Taver Johnson out and Matt Barnes in as a defensive backfield coach:

Re: 2018-19 Ohio State Buckeyes Men's Basketball

1st bad loss of the year. Question is, how does this young team bounce back? Holtmann's squad plays fundamentally sound, team oriented basketball. They do not yet have the gifted "go to" scorer or big man to consistently slug it out in the Big 10. They still are on track for 20+ wins and a likely m...

Re: Licking County League expansion

Like water, schools and athletic conferences seek their own level of equilibrium. What I find surprising is how the demographics of Newark and Zanesville have changed. Both schools back in the day were in the prestigious AAA Central Ohio League. As to Logan, they are simply the victims of geography.

Re: Waverly @ Oak Hill 1/8/18

Sounds like Oak Hill lost and Oak Hill fans sitting behind Waverly bench ran their mouths a lot and Waverly coaches respond and Oak Hill fan got ticked and tried to take care of it. Why would Waverly coaches do anything or even some haha taunting after a huge road win? I’d think they’d be celebrati...

Re: SEC Is Heavily Overrated

aTm is a sleeping football giant simply because of available financial resources. They have the biggest overall athletic budget of any college and a huge endowment. aTm is in a huge but highly competitive recruiting area that is growing rapidly. While I do not think Jimbo is the right guy to lead th...

Re: Trevor Lawrence

I got to see Trevor Lawrence play against NC State this past season and I was most impressed with his poise and leadership. The "it" factor is often more important than athletic skills. The scary thing is that Clemson may be more talented next season, but we know repeating a championship is more dif...

Re: SEC Is Heavily Overrated

Without question the SEC did not live up to its ESPN generated hype as the bowl and playoff season concluded. Still I think in terms of top to bottom depth, the SEC retains an edge over the other Power Five conferences. Parity is the best descriptor for the state of college football in 2018 except C...

Who's going to be the D coordinator Co-Coordinators. Jeff Hafley and Greg Mattison. I understand the rewarding of "titles" to lure candidates and justify salary. However I feel that if you have two head guys, you have none. Having two bosses muddies the chain of command and diffuses responsibility....

1. Clemson 2. Alabama 3. Oklahoma 4. Notre Dame 5. Ohio State 6. Texas 7. Georgia 8. Florida 9. LSU 10. Kentucky The top four wii stay the same because of the committee. Georgia probably had the best overall season of the rest but lost. Honestly everyone else is interchangeable.

Can this be the 1st OSU quarterback to make any kind of real impact in the NFL ? (Tom Matte QB in 59-60 played for Colts and won 1 super bowl ring in 71 but was a rb then along with Rex Kern Qb 68-70 who was a db then for the Colts. Art Schlichter Qb 79-82 ruined his own chances and Mike Tomczak Qb...

Re: National Championship (1/7): #2 Clemson 44 vs. #1 Alabama 16

There are many Clemson and Dabo haters, but the Tigers tonight have earned the respect of all college football fans. They physically dominated a darn good Bama squad. Although the post game interviews were corny, I think they show the difference in program priorities of Dabo versus Urban Meyer.. Dab...

Coach Persin is a master of getting his team to dictate a game's tempo. Waverly seems to have a collection of good athletes who are struggling to find their basketball soul if forced into a half court game.

Given the game is at Oak Hill, Oaks 50 Tigers 36

Schiano Apparently Out At Ohio State

WVU to Hire Troy's Neal Brown

A solid but not a home run hire of a young gun. A good fit for the offensive minded Big 12. Per WV MetroNews: MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia has reached an agreement to make Troy’s Neal Brown its new football coach, and athletics director Shane Lyons was working Friday to finalize contract detail...
