Re: The future of grass fields

It looks like Ferndale doesn't have lights either. Nope. Johnstown is an interesting city. Inside most of the city, is "Greater Johnstown". The school is on the southside of the city. Ferndale is just east/southeast of the high school. Stadium is also right on the river. To the west GJ, u...

Re: The future of grass fields

From my understanding, if schools set aside the same amount of money they spend for maintaining the field (labor, fuel, gas, mower maintenance, fertilizer, seed, water, paint, etc) they can easily afford the replacement of turf after its 10 year life. The major issue is the initial investment, but ...

Ferndale Yellow Jackets (PA) hosting Purchase Line Red Dragons (PA) at Ferndale Stadium in Ferndale. (Week 10 this past year). You don't see games like this that much anymore. More pics available from that week here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sykotyk/albums/72157702969478605 Photos from that gam...

Aside from the one TCC-Malvern shot previously, here's some others from those games: Wheeling Central Catholic (WV) v. 2018 Year in Review

How many high school varsity football games did you attend in 2018? I know LCF goes to a bunch. Many of them the same games I attend. Last season, I attended 118 high school varsity football games in 11 different states. 220 different teams in 59 different stadiums. 36 state championship games in Ne...

Re: My 2017 Final list of teams seen in person(A NEW HIGH)

Wow, and too cheap to pay $15 bucks for great games. Because if you believe that WV or KY football is on par, you are sorority mistaken. For a state with all games at one site, Ohio has the highest per game ticket price in the entire country. The next closest? Surprisingly, South Dakota, who charge...

Good reads.

Do a lot of work without a statistician or spotter to help.

Re: Reasons you won't attend the state finals? Update: Prices included

I won't be going. And the venue or price isn't the issue. The 10am, 3pm, and 8pm start times on Friday and Saturday just make it a royal pain to make all seven. If it was just me going, I could probably manage and be happy. But, wife and kid? Sorry. That last game takes 3 hours and that's 13 hours f...

Re: Friday only playoff games

Dude that's some serious mileage and a lot of watching high school ball, WOW. Didn't realize the amount of double, triple or quadruple headers one could catch during the season like that without it being playoff time. Most of those I'm guessing are large schools being at that many games in that man...

Re: Friday only playoff games

How do you go to 127 HS football games in 1 year?? Trying to work the math here and football is played same time of year for everyone maybe start a week earlier a week later, etc. Assuming there's a game on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, the math doesn't add up. Do you leave games after the 1st quarte...

Re: Friday only playoff games

Is anyone other than myself not concerned with this guy??? I mean he openly said in 1 year he went to 8 Browns games, WHAT???? Not even the people in Cleveland go watch them that much. You may have went to 8 Browns games but I know you didn't get any value, although I'm willing to bet they might pa...

He told me about the thread. I am on Yappi and many other forums. Never had a reason to register here. Considering I was brought into the conversation, I figured I'd add my thoughts on the matter.

Re: Friday only playoff games

The big problem we have is that Their has been no talk outside of message boards about implamenting this policy at the state championships at the new stdium. Will their be some restrictions? Of course. A lot of people will be showing up so it should be expected. It was already stated those restrict...

Re: Friday only playoff games

Oh Boo Hoo......... You are going to watch a state championship game or multiple games and you get upset because you can't take whatever into the stadium..... Now that's just awful     I think his point is valid. Most people attending a HS football game don't just assume that th...
