Re: Who will replace Ed Fry at Meigs?

If it is Jeremy Hill then he must have done some math. If the average tenure of a Meigs Head Coach is 3.4 years as somebody posted, then he must have figured he had less years than at Eastern. No other reason to come to Meigs.

Re: Who will replace Ed Fry at Meigs?

I can assure you, Bartrum will not be coaching basketball in any form or fashion for Meigs High School. Just from the stands. Some interviewing next week. Hopefully we will know soon. I heard that they had some interviews last night. When will be the announcement? So do you keep track of all parent...

Re: Who will replace Ed Fry at Meigs?

Jay Reynolds is the answer at Meigs. Coached under the one and only John Burdette, who played at Meigs. He is also his brother in law. It is the only reasonable option for Meigs. Jay also coached Meigs star Weston Baer all through elementary and junior high. And his son will make a great addition w...

Re: TVC Hocking 2018

Good for the young man. Eastern is one of the best schools in the area, always very classy. Most importantly he gets his diploma but I'm also excited to watch him possibly play some baseball! Looks like it's gonna be a great year at Eastern with or without him, but he will only help if he is able t...

Re: TVC Hocking 2018

Word on the street is Mattox is at school at EASTERN today Yes you saw him there and it was not official, however he got the call today and he starts tomorrow morning and is now an Eastern Eagle. Good for the young man. Eastern is one of the best schools in the area, always very classy. Most import...

Re: Who will replace Ed Fry at Meigs?

I would like to see Bartrum take the Meigs Basketball job. He may be a great basketball coach. As long as he gives up football. If he can be above .500 he would be better at basketball than he has been in football. It may be a better fit for him.

I think the new boys varsity basketball coach should go to the varsity football games and scream instructions to the players from the stands. It is only fair since that is what happens at basketball games.

Re: TVC Hocking 2018

All he had to do is to wear a uniform 2 days a week that was required in his Criminal Justice Class and he still have been on the basketball team. Follow the rules that his baseball coach and he would been on baseball team. Seem like to me he has trouble follow the rules Right. Sounds like a kid wh...

Re: Who will replace Ed Fry at Meigs?

There's an abundance of good coaches out there, some young some older. The problem is there are good coaches who are stepping away from the game due to the nonsense that Fonzie has pointed out (great post by the way). Meigs needs an outsider to come in with strong knowledge that will teach kids dis...

How much did every current or former coach in the history of basketball have before their first experience? just saying
I look for them to hire someone that is not an Alumni from Meigs.
None I can think of started a varsity coach with no experience.

Meigs never posts on OHSAA because they might actually get a good, qualified candidate who can’t be controlled by the clique running (ruining?) athletics at Meigs.

Re: Meigs @ Wellston 2/2

Yeah but this dude mentions the injuries, the quitting and the ineligibles on every post he makes. Kind of gets old, because his message is to stir the pot and talk about the kids. Facts are Meigs has had kids quit, get injured, and become ineligible. Through that, the Coach has kept the team focus...

Coach Fry doing a masterful job with the talent he has this season, with players quitting, and the injuries and ineligibilities. Coach of the year in my book with all the adversity.

I see a possibly 5-5 season . Meigs freshmen class will turn this program around in 2 years Heres the thing; next years senior class was even more dominant. Honestly don't think they lost a game through grade school and Jr high. They were tough and physical. Absolutely ran through everybody in Jr. ...

Whether you play varsity or not as a freshmen has a great deal to do with your maturity level, both physical and mental. Leadership is more that just leading a team in statistical categories.
