Re: 2019 Wheelersburg Pirates

The other poster made a comment. I was just relaying that I was told the same by someone involved. The Superintendent is a quality person. Anything that happens athletically or otherwise in the school system is his responsibility.

I was told this did happen after the Waverly basketball game and it wasn't just about basketball

Re: Burg vs. Portsmouth Future??

Valley and West already play Portsmouth. Minford and Wheelersburg have in the past. Portsmouth should try again

Definitely not missing GS this year or next year. Horsley and Masters are better QBs than he ever thought of being.

Re: Parker a call from Urban

Parker is good. Obviously being the man at Portsmouth gets him looks. Wheelersburg will still be good, but they do loose alot this year. Salyers and Holden are special players. Mathews is really good, but the threat of Holden over the top opens alot of stuff up. And the defense looses alot too. They...

Re: Jr High week 8

Wheelersburg 23 Valley 18 Valley was up 12-0 in the 2nd and 18-7 in the 3rd but Wheelersburg came back and made the plays to get it done. Yes good game to watch. Burg changed their backfield before last week game but put them back in second half of valley game. That’s when they started moving the b...

Re: Jr. High week 6

Your post is is what’s wrong with the outside perception of Wheelersburg. There’s no recruiting machine lol. A parent asking another parent saying their kid needs to come to Burg is not what you believe as some sort of “machine.” Parents don’t get together with the coaching staff and administrators...

Re: Jr. High week 6

Coming from an Ironton guy, I don't mind the transfers in to Burg. Ironton beat this Burg team last year in the 7th grade 28-0. Burg got some really good players in and this year Burg scored late to win a 12-8 game which was one of the finest, hardest hitting middle school games I've seen. Burgs te...

Re: Jr. High week 6

I had the opportunity to attend last night's mud bowl between Burg and West, there was good effort given by both teams, but lets give credit where credits due. Hands down West had the best player on the field. Burg has enough players to be able to sub a bit where West is lacking healthy players. As...

Re: Jr High week 3

62-12 50 -0 Why would you run up a score like that in middle school? I was there and everybody played and running clock! Ran up middle 95 % of the time. I seen burg put 6 different runningbacks in. Keeping the natives happy is part too. From what I was told one of the move ins parents showed their ...

Re: 2018 SOC 2 Football Offseason Talk and Outlook

So what would happen if it was proven that someone that isn't an employee of the school was giving benefits to a player or his family to entice them to go to a school?

Re: 2018 SOC 2 Football Offseason Talk and Outlook

When Wheelersburg got beat by Harvest Prep you were one saying they were nothing more than an AAU team. When posters pointed to Wheelersburg out of district players on last years football team the argument was that they went to Wheelersburg since kindergarten. Now you have this years 8th grade class...

Re: 2018 SOC 2 Football Offseason Talk and Outlook

You seem to have a lot to say on this issue. How are you involved? Who cares if a kid is asked to come play at burg? It’s the parents decision on whether the kid goes play there in the first place. That’s their fault. If you got a problem with it, talk to the parents raising them. Recruiting happen...

Re: 2018 SOC 2 Football Offseason Talk and Outlook

There isn't a Crabtree that coaches Jr. High Basketball at Valley. From my view, I do not think that the coaches at Wheelersburg "recruit" anyone. The football and baseball programs recruit themselves. Period. Do I feel there is a parent/community member doing things surrounding the baske...

Re: 2018 SOC 2 Football Offseason Talk and Outlook

A couple of the middle school kids mentioned here to my knowledge have never lost to Wheelersburg in football or basketball. In fact the scores I've seen have been very one sided wins against Wheelersburg. So loosing or the threat of loosing isn't it. I thought it was funny that one of the kids ment...

Re: 2018 SOC 2 Football Offseason Talk and Outlook

Realistically I do not see the SOC voting out Burg. What conference would they even join that would make sense? The OVC is the only one that comes to mind and makes sense Wheelersburg is a good draw economically but the playing field in it's current state isn't level or fair to the other member sch...
