Re: SOC2 2016
Please make sure you come back about week 10 to eat your crow. I will predict that Burg has running clock in a minimum of 7 of 10 games. I will also predict that no one plays Burg within 17 points all year long. Fairland, Portsmouth, North College Hill, Oak Hill will all be running clock Ironton, V...
Re: SOC2 2016
Argument that they are declining? They just won a regional since the nineties. More than likely win the SOC for the third straight time. Which will make it 4 out of the last 7. They did win the Region. And they had a good team. But the Region was terrible. Do you believe Wheelersburg is on par with...
Re: SOC2 2016
Wheelersburg, West, Waverly, and Minford all had some good SOCII teams in the 80s. Some were really good. From 1991 on through 1999, Wheelersburg dominated the league. From 2000 on the league has been very balanced, and with the addition of Valley, very competitive. All the SOCII teams during this e...

Is Jackson hosting a 7 on 7 next Saturday?
Re: SOC2 2016
Burg runs a fancy looking offense, but those hosses they had up front made the team go the last couple years. Very underrated quarterback and running back graduated also. The backups looked good, but they were doing that after the starters had the opponent already beat down. And truthfully football ...

No. Coldwater could've scored 60 on Wheelersburg had they wanted to.Mad-Dogg wrote: Burg and cw was 1 and 2 in the final D5 rankings. so wouldn't that make them the two best teams

Re: Wheelersburg Pirates 2016 Season
Wheelersburg was the best in a very weak Region. But not the second best team. Not even close. They didn't even put up a fight against Coldwater.
Wheelersburg themselves has had teams in the last 10 years that would've beaten last year's team.

I think they are afraid basketball and football will kill baseball.

Re: OHSAA change in off season practice memo
This is a step in the right direction. There needs to be more opportunities for kids of all sports to get better in the offseason. OHSAA needs to lift the numbers rules altogether.

Re: WEEK 1 IRONTON @WHEELERSBURG -- YOUR THOUGHTS.
Lutz was a good coach that had great talent. Irontons JV was more talented in the 80s and early 90s than the varsity was last year. Lutz wouldn't have done any better against Wheelersburg last year. Talent wise it was a total mismatch.
Re: OVC 2016
Wheelersburg dominated the Region, but it was probably the weakest southeast Ohio football has ever been in D4 or D5.

Re: WEEK 1 IRONTON @WHEELERSBURG -- YOUR THOUGHTS.
Wheelersburg lost some good/experienced players. They will be good, but not as good as last year. Ironton wasn't good last year and will be much worse this year. Burg in a blowout. that's what I'm asking oak. how much did ironton lose to graduation. I know Ironton lost pretty much everyone and the ...

Re: 2016 SOC I and SOC 2 Predictions
Wheelersburg has a big edge but some of those were split titles.
Re: 2016 SOC I and SOC 2 Predictions
Oak Hill and Northwest should be in the SOCII based on size. But they wouldn't win a game most years. Oak Hill has had a few teams over the years that could compete.
Difference between SOC 1 and 2 is like night and day.

Re: Catholic Schools out of OHSAA- Would it be more fair to public schools?
There are few Private schools that cheat. But they are there. We are fortunate that that they don't exist in the Southeast part of the state so teams can compete for a Regional title fairly, unless of course they extend the region to Columbus. But on most Divisions you will run into one if you go fa...

Re: Knipp back in at Rock Hill
Is it really better to go to Ironton now? They are in as much disarray as Rock Hill. Actually with Lutz gone now is a great opportunity for Rock Hill and Coal Grove. If they show improvement they can keep the kids home. The first year Lutz came back to Ironton was the last good team Rock Hill had an...

Re: Catholic Schools out of OHSAA- Would it be more fair to public schools?
I had a conversation with a superintendent a while back that was an assistant basketball coach for years. They played against one of the Catholic schools in Columbus. He knows Ross personally. When he complained about how this is fair he was told that they were trying to level the playing field with...
