Because you're the one talking about these other kids being older. In a time when 2 parents have to work to make it lots of kids are starting school early to basically have a babysitter. That extra year in school has them graduate at 18/19 instead of 17/18 which is a huge difference.

Wheelersburg with the Pre K had kids a year older than most others for years. When some other schools had kids stay back and repeat a grade (basically putting them on par age wise), it became the reason they were good. Not that they were good athletes.

A Superintendent at an SOC I school told me over the summer that Oak Hill and Northwest will probably be in the SOC II for football as early as next year. Eastern is one of the bigger SOC schools now. They may possibly be moved for basketball, but they really don't want to for football.

Ironton doesn't have near the talent they had 10 years ago which wasn't near the talent they had 10 years before that. The talent and depth of talent has been on a decline as it has the whole area.

Hartley is closer to where they should be in D3. Wouldn't be to concerned about making those November vacation plans from now on. D3 is a different animal and if they make the playoffs they won't be around long.
