Re: 2021 Portsmouth West 28 - 47 Waverly
What if they call the 1st half interception by Morrison when West is driving In the first half incomplete when he is a foot out of bounds? What if they run the Clock before half and call the Touchdown to Futhey incomplete when he trapped the ball on the ground? That's what I'm saying, both sides pl...

Re: 2021 Portsmouth West 28 - 47 Waverly
I thought West had a very good game plan and executed it well for 3 quarters. They were incredibly efficient on 3rd and 4th downs, I credit a lot of that to West making plays and poor tackling by Waverly. They easily could have won the game if they would have kept scoring and left no time on the clo...

Re: Waverly at Portsmouth it can happen now!!!
Waverly looks tired and frustrated. Portsmouth won every phase of the 1st half and get the ball to start the 2nd. Body Language says Trojans pull away in 2nd half.

Re: Waverly at Portsmouth it can happen now!!!
Wasn’t my words. Just going by what your fan base was saying when court house cancelled. Sounded like your team was willing to sit two weeks in a row instead of play someone on short notice. Not cool for the kids. I’m thrilled they found a game for the kids. But def glad waverly had film on Portsmo...

Re: Why play anyone you have a chance of losing to?
I know last week Hamilton Ross a DIII team near the dayton area was interested in playing them but Waverly declined I believe. I bet if Hamilton Ross would’ve been Hamilton Township that Waverly would’ve played They don’t want to risk a loss either from the sounds of it As of Thursday evening pract...

Re: Why play anyone you have a chance of losing to?
Why is Waverly having trouble picking up games? Are they being too choosy on who they want to play? Does no one want to play them because of the covid fears or that Waverly might just put a beat down on them?? It seems like most of the other schools are finding teams to play. Burg picked up Pikevil...

Re: Why play anyone you have a chance of losing to?
My argument is this: What criteria does a team have for cancelling? They can make it up as they go. That's where the OHSAA as the governing body, the rules and decision makers need to be involved.

Why play anyone you have a chance of losing to?
With the OHSAA providing little to no guidance on cancelling games, why would you play anyone you have a chance of losing to? I know it sounds ridiculous but hear me out. If week 10 rolls around and my team has two players that are out due to minor injuries and they'll play week 11. We are guarantee...

Re: Week 5 Waverly at Washington Court House
The superintendent at Washington has made it clear. His programs will NOT play anyone who has had to close their buildings. It is not just football. Several sporting events with McClain were cancelled when McClain closed their doors. Washington Court House went back to a mask mandate indoors to kee...

Re: Week 5 Cancellations
BTW, Jr. High game between Chillicothe and Waverly scheduled for this Thursday Sept 16th IS STILL BEING PLAYED!!!! See, now that’s sketchy. They couldn’t play HS team on Friday but can play Jr High the following Thursday although nothing has changed. Probably keep it classy and cancel Wednesday nig...

Re: Week 5 Cancellations
If teams can play it needs to happen. The dodging and looking for games seems silly. Expanded playoffs you are probably getting in. Poor waverly has 2 straight cancelled. High schools must think they are Alabama. Portsmouth is all remote and has not missed a game and game Friday is on. Seems to be ...

Re: Week 5 Waverly at Washington Court House
The team that cancels should be required to forfeit unless the team that had the game cancelled could find a replacement. In this instance, Chilli should have forfeited last week and WCH should this week unless Waverly finds an opponent. When there are no Covid cases or quarantine on the team it's a...

Re: Waverly vs Piketon — let’s make it happen
That’s not how league games work 😂 How does anything work this year? Obviously you can cancel with no repercussions. OHSAA dropped the ball on this!! Trying to contact them now. What stops every team from blackballing say Waverly? Honestly Waverly could finish the season 3-0, miss out on the playof...

Re: Waverly vs Piketon — let’s make it happen
Well I was just looking at schedules and if unioto canceled on Piketon this week or they both mutually agreed to cancel, You could see 1-3 unioto vs 2-2 Washington court house And 4-0 Piketon vs 3-0 Waverly More even games and easier drive times for all involved. That’s not how league games work 😂 ...

Re: Week 5 Waverly at Washington Court House
As a Waverly parent it is a bit frustrating considering the precautions the team has made. However, the rest of the district and public have made little to none and that's why we are nicknamed "SPike County". If school hadn't been cancelled, both Chillicothe and WCH games would have been p...
