Re: 2018 Ironton Head football coach

Would owning a gym/performance center and being a coach on the local football team be an ethical conflict of interest?

Re: Should Your School Be allowed to Recruit?????

Proving that a school or program "recruited" a player is impossible without a paper trail. Concerned citizens provided some photos and a video that got the Hoban coach busted. St Hilary and some middle school in Kent, Ohio is what earned him a two game suspension and a very brutal training session....

And I'm not sure that the OHSAA really cares when there is a paper trail.

Re: TVC-Ohio WK7 Alexander @ River Valley

It was nice to see the Raiders use the tailback last night. That kid doesn't go down easy at all. Power run game opened up some big shots down field. Hope we see more of this offense the rest of the way out. First half yes. He had over 100 yds. Second half with a lead, he only got 2 rushes. Not gre...

CURSE YOU, Madden Football Games

I have decided that we need to find a university which will confer a degree in Football Coaching (Madden Specialty). At least that's what I'm going to blame for the current rush of armchair coaches who sit in the stands and at their keyboards and claim to have all the answers for why their football ...

Re: Gallia Academy Football 2017

the school in the southern end of gallia county has had the most success in the past decade of anyone in gallia county. maybe the ga administration should get somebody from down that way to coach. lots of ga talent has headed south the past few years. must be a reason.

Re: GA Football Job

Was the new youth program designed to compliment the varsity or as an attempt by some people to prove that they know better than the high school coaches? IMO I don't think the varsity staff had much control as they should have. A lot of upset parents this year because of the league they got into. N...

If GA would hire an outsider and then give that person 4-5 years to get something done, they might be surprised with the results. The only way the youth program gets better is if they start playing real competition, not the crappy pee-wee teams in Gallia and Meigs and Mason county. playing better te...

Who knows, maybe just living in Mercer County is more appealing than living in Vinton County to some people? You never know until you try it, right? I believe the coach is moving FARTHER away from his home town than he was in McArthur. Also, I think the job he's taking on is even harder than the VC job FWIW. Maybe the Appalachian inability to grasp anything beyond the literal chased him away... It's a conceptual thought/question/observation, no...

When Will They Ever Learn...

With the departure of the Vinton County head coach after one year, we have yet another example of a district experiencing xenophilia and hiring a "Way Outsider" to come in and "fix our football problem."
