Re: OVC Expansion
Kentucky would be completely out of the equation due to them being "District Play" they don't have conferences.... At least that is the way I understand it.

OVC Record in parenthesis **If I have any records wrong, I do apologize** I will start with our Hustlin' Hornets Fairland - (11-3) South Point - (10-4) Ironton - (8-6) Chesapeake - (8-6) Gall...

Re: Is ovc expanding?
Jackson and Oak Hill seem to be the best fit for a large division and small division with River Valley and Symmes Valley and strong second or a possible 4 team add. Jackson would take over Gallia as the biggest if they came in to the League. Current league Member Enrollments: Gallia - 223 boys; 195 ...

Re: SOC All star game
And it’s just seniors playing. Not a true “all-star” game. I believe that’s dictated by the OHSAA. The issue many of us have is the total disrespect the league showed Waverly - it’s not about the “all star game” itself… OHSAA now allows underclassmen to play in “all star” games. As far as disrespec...

Let's Have a Debate - Is this open recruiting
Ironton St. Joe AD/Head Baseball Coach & Head Basketball Coach are putting out social media posts for the Edchoice Expansion program. Which by it's is really not a problem. The problem comes in when they are specifically targeting 3 School district in their posts, and specifically attaches "...

Re: Portsmouth in S.O.C.?
OVC-Numbers I took the last 5 counts I could find and logged the enrollment #'s for boys....interesting to see the ebb and flow....The last ranking is from the overall average for the combined counts. Also remember that the 2020 was kept the same from 2018 due to Covid. ovc numbers.jpg 2022-23 &...

Re: South Point’s Maurice Long offered by Akron
First off Congratulations to Mr. Long!! This kid has size, strength and is very nimble on his feet. He's a very very good player; I hope nothing but success for him all along the way!! The recognition is earned and warranted... Next: X's and Blows...you're arrogance is astounding, your belittling of...

Re: Ironton/Rock Hill game?
Sounds to me as if when presented with rules/regulations and made to follow, Ironton has trouble dealing. Although, Ironton is used to doing whatever they want and getting away with it.

Multi-sport Athletes
Saw a statistic of the 8 QB's in the NFL Divisional Round were multi-sport HS athletes... Who are some of the multi-sport athletes in our area and what sports do they play? The 8 starting NFL quarterbacks played 24 sports combined in high school. Matt Stafford 🏈⚾ Tom Brady 🏈🏀⚾ Josh Allen 🏈🏀⚾ Patrick...

Re: Gallia Academy vs South Point
This comes down to who can impose their style, If Gallia can make it a halfcourt game it's theirs, if SP can turn the speed up they win. A true contrast of styles.

Re: 2022 OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE
Keep hearing rumors that after basketball season the big boy from Gallia is headed to Ironton. Hope it isn't true, that would greatly weaken the Devils. If FF really wants to bolster it's schedule the only 2 teams in the southern most portion of Ohio that would get them playoff ready would be Ironto...

Just finished the YouTube stream of this game. Varsity starts at about the 25 minute mark: Rock Hill played mostly Man defense, maybe just a couple of possessions of zone.

Re: Rock hill 59 portsmouth 54
Rock Hill is no slouch. Owen Hankins, Adams and Doddridge form a formidable backcourt and the two bigs down low play very hard around the rim.

How's the league shape up for next year - Top returning players, who are some players that will contribute next season we may not know about? My take on the league rankings from Top to bottom for next year: 1. Ironton - Keyes, Carpenter, Wylie, Porter, Perkins, Martin, Wilson, and a ton of talent I'...

Re: ***SOC 1 & 2 2021-2022***
West is right there with Waverly for the league title. People will be surprised how good the backcourt is this year. IMO the best in the area The backcourt at West is good, but it is not better than Robertson and Stully at Waverly. Trey has no peer in this part of the state when it comes to scoring...
