Re: What is the “Other” BIG NEWS coming from Ironton?

Wonder if its Melvin Cunningham coming on board with Ironton coaching staff?? If so Id say several athletes will be coming with him! Hmmmmm Im pretty sure that wont be happening (some players leaving ) , they arent exactly sad to see him go. Youll probably see more kids come out for football now th...

Re: Fairlands Cunningham stepping down as head coach

I just read that Fairland will be looking for a new head football coach , Cunningham is apparently retiring from coaching . If this true. Where is he going? He has to be leaving for somewhere else? From what I know he had lost the team. The better players were done playing for him and were either n...

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?

I think if Morgan leaves the MVL, the MVL’s first replacement call would be Cambridge. MVL has already expanded into Guernsey County with Meadowbrook and would continue Meadowbrook Cambridge rivalry and allow for the expansion of JG Cambridge rivalry to all sports. I would have to think Cambridge w...

Re: Fairfield Union Hires a New HC

Twitter news broke yesterday that Fairfield Union has hired a new football coach and they didn’t have to look far. Athletic Director Andy Clark has been named the head football coach at FU. Coach Clark will leave his athletic director duties behind him and move in to a classroom setting as a teache...

Re: Local Job Openings/Opportunities

Play60, I don't live locally anymore, but a few I have talked to (I have a relative involved in the program right now, for one) view this as a "meh" hire (not against C. Saum as a person, who seems well-liked, but in terms of coaching acumen/background). There were apparently some more ex...

Re: Local Job Openings/Opportunities

Is this an underwhelming hire? I'm not sure but I know AC fans obviously want to see the winning program of old. But is it more important to hire a proven coach or just an alumnus? I'm genuinely asking for curiosity, was Daulton run out because he wasn't an AC graduate?

Re: (New) Twin State League

With Morgan now being in the big school division of the MVL it would be interesting to see if they feel they can maintain competition in boys and girls sports with the likes of Sheridan, TV, JG, Philo. They were not competitive for many years in most sports and the split seemed to help them out grea...

Does Morgan revisit/or look at this league now that they’re in the big school of the MVL for 2024?

I'm not sure who would be in the big school but I'm assuming one of the NL kids will be favorites in the Small school. Probably QB or RB.

Re: MVL Week 7

Hats off to the Crooksville D for holding West M to 7 points in the first half. I missed on the hang 50 prediction. I was at the game at Crooksville friday, their stadium is absolutely beautiful! Got some construction going on but still! Crooksville plays very hard but man are they small! OL and DL...

Has Crooksville given up 50 all year. They're an anomaly where usually teams that score only 12 points this late in the season are giving up 50 -60. It looks like their D is okay....... That being said West wins easily!!

Re: WK5 NEW LEXINGTON VS TRI-VALLEY

Really depends on whether Board will choose to stay at New Lexington by then. [/quote] I think Board is at NL for the long haul! He's got all the support in the world, just married the VB coach (famous alumni) and bought a house last year. All this doesn't mean he can't leave but it would have to be...

Re: History of the Muskingum Valley League

Crooksville should stay in the MVL. They are having it rough right now but it comes and goes. Top contenders in the past are struggling this year. It's not going to get better traveling to Columbus to play private schools or beat up on schools with 49-70 boys like Miller, Fisher, BR, Millersport. B...

Re: History of the Muskingum Valley League

On the Yappi sight (take it for what it is) there is a lot of talk and "insider" discussion of Crooksville being a fit in the MSL Cardinal. There seemed to be more when the Cardinal was about to break off.... Ohio Division ultimately did, so who knows now. Culturally Crooksville makes more...

8 Man football will eventually be sanctioned in Ohio but who knows how long it will actually take. a few years ago the OHSAA did a dive into gathering information on it and ask schools for logistics and opinions. Whats going to need to happen is the OHSAA Sanction it and create "D8", creat...
