Re: Minford Football

Any chance our Falcons drop to DVI? Preliminary numbers has them right on the edge of what was V and VI last cycle.

Where did you get that info?
Preliminary numbers on OHSAA has them at 204 boys for 2024-25. They were 176 last cycle and close to DIV weren’t they? Not a stretch to see them move up with CB and all.

Good chance they end up in d7 eventually
Why? Is enrollment going down? Or everyone else growing and they’re not?

Re: SW @ Minford 1/9/24

Rumor floating around was the board approved KREISCHER as the interim Good move if it’s true I think most, if not all, Webster faithful would approve this move. Kreischer knows everything SW basketball is about and will be a valuable asset in this team's progress going forward! Would be great to se...

Re: Minford Football

Based on what I have been told, if there is a district in the area that isn't exactly in a position to "create a teaching job", it's Minford. It also amazes me how some people believe a school district can just create a position for a person. It is really not an indication on things being...

Re: Minford Football

Fairland website says Melvin Cunningham was OC and Google search shows he resigned to take the HC at Murray (KY).

Is this the same guy or someone else on staff there?

Re: What will it take for an SEOP area team to rise up to state-level competitor?

Professional teams are paid for winning and losing, so they have every reason to do what wins, and none of them runs a basic offense. Major college sports have millions of dollars riding on outcomes and commit millions of dollars to making that happen. There have been division I NCAA football teams...

Re: What will it take for an SEOP area team to rise up to state-level competitor?

I think the participation might be from parents not allowing their sons to play football I have talked to a few who have said this I get that. Although most of us survived playing with minor aches and pains, football can result in serious injury (ie Eric Wallace). This is why the NFL and college fo...

Re: Minford Football

Coincidence? That two men share the same last name, coming from the same small area, chances are they’re related somewhere in the family tree. Point of reference is Irwin sister is not married to the Lester that was offered the job. Coach Irwin may or may not be on staff, but it won’t be because he...

Matiz. Don’t think he did/does have interest in being a HC or he would have done it by now. Will be interesting how much of any of the staff is retained.

Re: Minford Football

You can bet the mortgage. The young man will play football, especially for Tom Kaskey. Whether or not he does or doesn't I wouldn't be betting any mortgage on it. Kid was miserable this past season, honestly a coaching change might've been the only shot they had to getting him back out there. If he...

Re: SOC to vote on 3 Football Divisions (Thurs.)

I have no idea why the SOC and OVC refuse to compromise on a blended football only conference . There is a solution to this competitive balance issue, but it's like the powers that be won't take yes for an answer. Times change and so do traditions. Southeast Ohio needs to get with the times. SOVC I...
