Re: Alexander Spartans

Most people at Alex seemed to like Arno or at least what he accomplished at the school early on and I will not dispute that he did some nice things in Albany. I also think that he basically tore down everything he built early on over the past couple of seasons for whatever reason, be it personal fam...

Re: COMPETITIVE BALANCE ISSUE PASSES

Would schools only have to turn in a varsity roster for adjustments or do all kids 9-12 count no matter what?

Re: Athens Bulldogs 2014

Athens @ Steubenville is now 100% official. The deal was signed Wednesday and filed with the OHSAA yesterday. The OHSAA site now shows the game as of this morning.

Re: Athens Bulldogs 2014

That is an old version 93, if you pull it up from the home page/calendar Athens still shows open for week 6 as does the link for open dates at the top of the ohsaa page.

Re: Athens Bulldogs 2014

I was told by a very reliable source over the weekend that Steubenville is in negotiations with Barberton to void their current contract for week 6 and that it would happen as soon as the details are worked out. I was then assured that as soon as their contract is voided that Athens and Steubenville...

Buddy I am still confused!
Not a game. I'm told there will not be a game between these two either despite on and off talks between the two on a few occasions. Athens is currently back in talks with Steubenville.

Re: Ironton 2014

As far as I know talks with SVSM never took place as far as football is concerned. The Irish are set to make the trip down next winter for another basketball game though.

Re: Can Phil repeat his Magic in Glouster?

They should be very good again, state run good? Lots of talent returning but a couple of excellent kids moving on also. New QB to break in, line should be tough again, Jenkins and Downs are threats at all times but my feeling is that they go as far as the defense carries them.

We have 5 home games scheduled already for next season so playing on the road wouldn't matter to us.

Re: Ironton 2014

I would tell you that if Athens was willing to sign a say 4 year deal or so they would be on the schedule Athens does not have week 6 open after next season. Logan returns to the Athens schedule in 2015 in week 1 replacing Gallia Academy, GAHS is moving to the week 6 slot in 2015. This is one reaso...

Re: Columbus Schools closing: region effect?

According to the article I just read, the students that choose to stay in the Columbus Public School system will be divided between Mifflin HS and Whetstone HS. The Brookhaven students would also have the option to attend any charter school of their liking. Brookhaven (D3-R9) had 337 boys at the las...

Re: Athens Bulldogs 2014

Well; I guess both Athens and Ironton are afraid to play each other SAD! If we were willing to play at Steubenville week 6 (which we tried to do) a team coming off of a D4 regional title and a dozen or so straight playoff appearances and at Zanesville (week 2) a team coming off of D2 regional title...

Don't forget Prater (Wellston) at Northwestern and Pendleton (Portsmouth W.) at Michigan St. who both get playing time.

We offered to come to "the tank" to play the Tigers in week 6 but lets just say the people in Ironton thought better of it.

Re: Schools Invited to leave their current leagues!

I think they should keep that game even though NY is d6 there is only one division between them even though NY plays up in the ohio div. But I was told if it wasnt a league game it is going away. I guess they are talking to Fairland about game one in 2015. That may be the dumbest thing I have ever ...

Re: TVC: Consider this!

In your 3 division set up I'd flip N-Y and Alex (for competition) along with Belpre and Trimble (both competition and travel). It is exactly what many have been wishing would happen for quite some time now. I also think Jackson/Gallia/Warren are all interchangeable in the scenerio.
