How about The Pike County Gridiron Trophy, with the cutout of the county resting on a 'P' and a 'W'? Maybe have a local business sponsor it so there can be an 'impartial' presenter. I don't know what they do with basketball, but a similar trophy for the Holiday tournament would be nice. And, eagles7...

eagles73, Since it is your idea, I think it should be a bust of you. But then, neither team will try to win, so scratch that idea. How about a trophy that simple is shaped like the county, with the dates and scores etched into it?

The BCS system as it is needs to be trashed. The same with the preseason polls and the polls during the season. Play out all of the games, then rank/seed them. To much manipulation goes on throughout the season for there to be much validity.

The BCS is a joke. Do away with it and start a playoff system.

I like the idea about the trophy. Hopefully Piketon can win it now and then, and make the won-loss record less one-sided.

Coach Lisath has played on and been an assistant coach for state championship teams; earned a college scholarship and played 4 years of Div. 1 basketball; has been a successful head coach on the high school level. I trust he knows what he's doing.

It seemed like Piketon missed more than that. I'd say many of those were in the first half. Would still like to see the percentage up, but I know it's one thing to male them in practice, and another to make them with the pressure on. There were alot of ticky-tack fouls called on both teams. They cam...

Congratulations on a great year Westfall. Hopefully the Red Streaks can join you all in the playoffs next year.

Good win by the Streaks. Missed quite a few free throws, or the margin would have been more. I liked the outside shooting, but would like to see it pushed inside more. Good hustle throughout, good intensity. The Streaks were called for numeous carrying violations (in all 3 games on the night) but fo...

mstangmom, I don't know who Coldwater whined to, as I don't know who Westfall has whined too. I based my comments and opinions off of what I have read from the comments I've read. If the OHSAA can do as they please, which is what I've read on this site, why is anyone surprised? Deal with it, and foc...

It's funny how when the shoe is on the other foot, those people are petty, but when you're the one wearing the shoe, the situation is totally different. When Westfall fans were predicting 3 or 4 touchdown wins in the first three rounds, it was confidence. When Coldwater fans do the same, it is no re...

For those going to the game from the Chillicothe area and south, the quickest way is to stay on Rotue 35 instead of getting on I-75, thru Dayton, and it will merge into Rt. 49, and take you to Clayton (just follow the road signs.) Then turn right on US 40, which is north of I-70, I believe. That's h...

1. Westfall isn't a big fish in a small pond. They are having a run of success in football,as has been enjoyed by other schools in the league in the past. Their success hasn't carried over into all of the other sports, although they are generally competitive. 2. I think this game will boil down to t...

This game was as good as it gets. We sat on Union Locals side, so we got the insight on many of their players. Was told that Gust has been hurt for a couple of weeks, and then gets hurt further in the first quarter. The way he blew by the Tiger D on that first TD catch, I think the Jets would have a...

I would have rather seen this game at Jackson, but it's at Teays Valley, so nothing we can do about it now (although I heard a reason the game wasn't scheduled at Jackson was because Westfall wasn't played on field turf, so it wouldn't be fair to them. True or not????) I'm going to the game regardle...
