Waverly in a tighter game than most expect it looks like. 28-21.

Two evenly matched teams. Waverly was the better conditioned team. 2/3 of Athens team was gassed, cramping, or both by middle of 3rd quarter. Coach had to burn his timeouts because they were gassed. Exciting game to start the season.

I coached there for 5 years. Every couple years they will have a kid go d1, but its not the norm.

They have 3 DL going D1 and I'd be surprised if the tailback doesn't play somewhere at the next level.
