yes this is the first year the state deuls are under the OHSAA and under the new format. i like the idea of the state duels, but the state needs to make some adjustments. i think teams need to qualify and seeding needs to be fixed. the state duels themselves have been around since 1994, with several...

the district as a whole is light years ahead of where it was lets say 15 years ago. with several schools starting programs over the past few years. compared to the rest of the state i feel that there's work to be done. part of the problem is the fact that there's only 33 schools that have wrestling....

it's all about scheduling. you have to schedule 2 day tournaments where you get 10 matches a weekend. Point Pleasant used to do this too. I'm with tric118, that's way too many matches, but to each his own.

126, 132, 138, 145 were all weight classes back then. i am not an advocate for the change, but i dont see this being that big of a deal, also these changes were introduced after 2-3 years of research. 103 always seems to be down, bumping it up to 106 may solidify it, keeps kids from cutting too much...
