Re: WK 10 ROCK HILL 2-7 (1-2) @ COAL GROVE 6-3 (3-0)

Ah, Coal Grove/Rock Hill. This one won't be pretty at all but it's always nice to reminisce on what used to be a very intense and (on occasion) a very important rivalry game. Rock Hill has often been the doormat of the OVC down through the years and Coal Grove has often been right near the top. Thin...

Re: WK 9 South Point 2-6 (0-2) at Coal Grove 5-3 (2-0)

Sounds like CG won 44-17. The Hornets are all but eliminated from the playoffs with Oak Hill's win over Northwest and Monroe Central squeaking by. Now all that stands between the Hornets and an outright OVC title is the annual thrashing of Rock Hill.

Re: Week 9 River Valley @ Athens

I will agree that there's no way the starting QB (or any starter) needs to still be in this game. Neither team wins by keeping them in. Score gets worse for RV; players risk getting hurt for Athens.

Re: Week 9: (6-1) Ironton @ (8-0) Jackson

If the Tigers keep this one close, they could easily win a couple of games in the playoffs. If the Hartley score stays the same though, look out!

I'd imagine the Raiders would much rather be playing, say, a South Point or a Fairland tonight. Yikes...

Re: WK 8 COAL GROVE VS. CHESAPEAKE (LITTLE BROWN JUG GAME)

How will Ironton miss the playoffs? They can still schedule Wheelersburg, Ashland, and two other non-conference games. They already play Portsmouth every year (who will now win more games and be a more valuable win). Most years, a win over Coal Grove will be worth approximately as much as a win over...

Re: WK 8 COAL GROVE VS. CHESAPEAKE (LITTLE BROWN JUG GAME)

Good, solid win by the Hornets. It's always nice to go into Chesapeake and retain the Little Brown Jug. Coal Grove's playoff chances likely depend on an Oak Hill loss next week against Northwest and a Belpre loss either tomorrow against Parkersburg Catholic or next week against Eastern Meigs. The OV...

Oak Hill would likely have to lose next week to miss the playoffs, but the stay will be a short one with a long ride to and from F-town possibly looming. Bad, bad loss tonight.

Great win by the Vikings, all but locking up a trip to the playoffs. Oak Hill is exposed yet again.

It sounds like the Dragons are as bad as ever with injuries or whatever the issues are. Hornets get the W, but a trip to the Dragon Lair is seldom a walk in the park for the Grove.

Re: Region 21

With the win against Magnolia, WV tonight, Monroe Central should cruise through the rest of their regular season schedule and is almost guaranteed to be around in Week 11. The Seminoles are getting to be a near-automatic bet to make it in this region.
