If West can shut down Holden, I wouldn’t be surprised if Burg doesn’t score more than 7 points in the second half. They haven’t really moved the ball other than the three big plays. These teams match up surprisingly well.

Tanner Holden is single handedly winning this game. No real dominance on either side but two big plays by him have opened it up.

West fails a 4th down conversion at midfield and Wheelersburg scores on the next play. 14-7 with 2:09 left.

3rd and 20 turns into a long TD pass for Wheelersburg. 7-7 with exactly 7:00 left in the half.

Burg has now fumbled twice and recovered on top of the interception and lost fumble earlier in the game.

The calls are definitely going in West’s favor so far. I’ll take it though.

I find it hard to believe that one player turns a 2-Point game into a 30-point game.

I think the biggest difference will be the fact that Burg’s team is double the size of West. It’s hard to beat a team that rotates players each down when you have kids playing every snap on both sides.

WCC won 32-30. They played at 1:30.

The cards are in favor of West keeping this one close. Wheelersburg had some trouble pulling away from Valley while West nearly beat a defending state champ in WCC, and the game is on the West side. It’s hard to pick against Burg but I don’t think it’ll be a blowout like last year.

Ouch, that’s a heartbreaker. Maybe it’s a good sign for next week though.

It also seems that Madeira would be the only favorite to win their game, so it would seem likely they would make it in on virtue of those teams losing.

You sure? They’re looking pretty solid right now, and a Portsmouth win over Ironton would help a lot for second level points.

Wheelersburg has a 16-point lead at half on Valley.

West had a 23-point lead at half against Valley.

Therefore, West is a 7-point favorite next week.
