Re: Ironton BOE Meeting 12/19
If you Ironton people want a new coach and you have dog it the fight I would go to the next board meeting. You need to express your concerns and the reasons behind them. I have made mine clear on many occasions to the AD and the Super and nothing happens. The Super tried to make some changes but gue...

Re: Ironton BOE Meeting 12/19
If you watched any Ironton games you would say he is the main reason for their decline.

Re: Ironton
As long as Vass is there the whole team will be average. Unless he gets some new coaches and his work habits need to change. Watch weight conditioning and old men left better than the Ironton kids.

Re: Ironton
I have no idea but if he does we will be a linemen. Too much talent at Burg for him to be linebacker or a running back. you're crazy! He would definitely be a linebacker. Kid is a stud I won't run down the kid but his linebacker play is average. But maybe his Senior year with some better coaching t...

Re: Portsmouth Football Coach
Well said and I hope the Ironton people look at your post and see why I have the concerns about their program.

Re: Portsmouth Football Coach
I know one coach that interview with Duncan and the AD for a position on his staff. He told me then they would not be successful because they were not willing to shake up the program.

Re: Portsmouth Football Coach
That is way to many kids on one team at that level.BigBlueNation wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2017 1:47 pmYes it was.Proud_Pirate63 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2017 1:44 pmSounds like a heck of a lot kids standing on the sidelines instead of getting some kind playing time.BigBlueNation wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2017 1:41 pm
The Portsmouth 5&6 grade team had about 35 to 40 kids, not 50 or 60. We played them twice this year.

Re: Portsmouth Football Coach
This does not surprise me because PT has been under achieving under the head coach direction for the last 2 years. I would clean house and find some coaches outside Portsmouth 4 walls. I would do the same at Ironton they have been under achieving for the last 4 years.

Re: Coaching Changes for 2018
Winning the OVC means nothing when the kids want them gone and the attendance has hit rock bottom. The Ironton football program lost money this year and will continue to loose money with this staff.

Re: Ironton Wrestling Started
If you have ever wrestled for 6 minutes you would say what football teams do in the off season cannot touch it. Trust me it is the most demanding sport I have ever seen.

Re: Coaching Changes for 2018
I agree I been saying this for a while. Not to mention Triplett and Wheeler who both have coached for several programs. What a shame to see all this coaching talent go to waste.

Ironton Wrestling Started
Ironton is starting a wrestling program up again at the high school. It has been a long time since this program has taken place at the high school. I am hoping the football coaches are pushing their kids to participate in this sport. There is not any better conditioning program that you could want f...

Re: 2018
What I have heard from Ironton they are waiting to see if the head football coach steps down or not. If he does not the new/old BOE is prepared to take action. I am not sure what that means about taking actions but I am sure things must change! My vote is they clean house and get some coaches that k...

Oak Hill needs out of the small school division in the SOC and that will happen within the next 2 years from what I have been told by their AD.

Re: WK10 (4-5) PORTSMOUTH @ (4-5) IRONTON
A search committee is being put in place as we speak to search for a new Ironton coach. The new BOE will be put on the spot to replace him. This should happen before December or very shortly after Christmas break.

Re: Ironton(20) @ (38)Gallia Academy
He might be ok but I believe they need a veteran coach to get the change in place and then add Tyler to learn and some day take over.
