Re: WK4 (3-0) Waverly @ (1-2) Fairland

Dude, I don't have anything to do with it but Old school this is not. The one back zone is what many college and pro teams run. Very few even have a fullback on the roster. I think there were two drafted last spring. http://insider.espn.com/nfl/draft/positions/_/id/10/year/2017 The new thing is to r...

Re: WK4 (3-0) Waverly @ (1-2) Fairland

We had a kid named Montavon once, 150 pounds soaking wet. He never wore down and he carried the ball 20 times a game. Back when everyone huddled and only got in half as many plays.

Re: WK4 (3-0) Waverly @ (1-2) Fairland

Agree MON and we need to get better at what we do and play as fast and smart as possible, no time to be thinking about new wrinkles! If everyone does their job as best they can it comes down to execution! Just want to be 1-0 every week! https://www.facebook.com/WaverlyTigersFootball/photos/a.7978605...

Re: WK4 (3-0) Waverly @ (1-2) Fairland

In other words, your really don't understand the one back Spread offense and think they should change it because the defense may put 7 in the box to stop Kritzy, when in fact that is what we want them to do! Ok I get it now.

Re: WK4 (3-0) Waverly @ (1-2) Fairland

In my opinion you play your players until it is running clock time. Waverly has not been there yet this year. I don't buy into wearing a kid down running plays that are part of your base offense. Never seen a good running back get tired of 100 yard plus games.

Re: WK4 (3-0) Waverly @ (1-2) Fairland

This kid busted his ass all winter and has for 4 years to get his. He has goals. Reserves get their reps in JV games.

Re: WK4 (3-0) Waverly @ (1-2) Fairland

Kritzy is a senior one way player guys. He wants the ball as many times as he can get it. He wasn't happy with his 29 last week. Pick a different scab.

Re: WK4 (3-0) Waverly @ (1-2) Fairland

but I think you still have to drive through downtown Gallipolis which can eat time. Best bet is US23 to US52 then SR7. Allow at least 90 minutes drive time from Waverly if Rosemont Hill is closed.
If you take 160-6-588 you don't but I still don't know if it is worth it. Probably not.

Re: WK4 (3-0) Waverly @ (1-2) Fairland

Rosemount is closed I believe until 5 pm starting Sept 15 isn't it? Then you could go 335 to dixon mill rd to 140. I just think it is very congested and lots of traffic. What is it like from Galliopolis to Proctorville on rt 7?

Re: WK4 (3-0) Waverly @ (1-2) Fairland

How many of you think it makes more sense to drive 32 to 35 to rt 7 from Waverly, it is further but much better roads most of the way and no Portsmouth traffic. Google maps say first route is longer but would it be about the same time? https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Waverly,+OH/Fairland+High+School...

Re: Waverly (44) @ Zane Trace (31)

Why does every Waverly thread turn into complaining about something from the game after? Last week was a bad call, this week is about a coaching decision by ZT. Next week will be that Unioto's QB is #33 and not a tradition number for a quarterback (I'm guessing) I didn't go, but it looks like Waver...

Re: WK3 (2-0) Unioto @ Waverly

Should be a dogfight. Two playoff teams from last year and both undefeated going into this game. I think both teams need to get better and the one that steps up will be 3-0 after Friday night. Unioto has some good athletes and the Tigers are going to have to be hitting on all 8 to get a win. Nice th...

"I didn't go, but it looks like Waverly had their way from the opening kick. Too bad Waverly will lose playoff points based on style points though!"

Re: Waverly High School Hall of Fame

It is not a baseball hall of fame. There are many athletes that will be inducted but it wont happen all in one year.

The 54 baseball team own the schools only State Championship!

Re: Waverly High School Hall of Fame

You should probably nominate him, comeonman. There has only been one class inducted so far. John Shoemaker was drafted in two pro sports so politics had nothing to do with that.
