Re: Week 7 - Oak Hill @ Northwest

Have we not learned that there is no correlation between Jr High and High School success? On the strength of numbers alone, I have no doubt that NW will continue to be somewhat successful against the SOC I schools. I don't believe that their style of play will let them be competitive with the SOC II...

Re: Sciotoville East New Head Coach?

I have no ties to East and I do not personally know any of the individuals who have been talked about on this thread, but I will say that this is a rather disgusting thread. To speak of these men in such a demeaning tone from behind a computer screen is immature at best, cowardly at worst. Also, to ...

Lucasville Valley still has to play Ironton Wheelersburg still has to play Waverly Chesapeake still has to play Piketon Portsmouth still has to play Coal Grove I think you might not want to jump the gun and say Valley,Burg, Cheasapeake, and Trojans are already there. Re: All (soc1-2 ) teams

Can not remember how many each get on a team, but I'll give it my best guess.

1st team
Minford - Rowe, Gullion, Shepherd
Valley - Rolfe, Brown
Oak Hill - Cox, Harrison
West - Davis, Irwin
Burg - Spradlin
S.webster - Zimmerman
Northwest - Scarberry
Waverly - Henderson

POY - Rolfe

Re: Predictions for SOC I, II and OVC

Was I a little off Oak fan? Was I?

I bet you've been sitting around since the preseason waiting to jump. I didn't miss all of them, I just misplaced your Oaks. Still don't believe they are very goo but as long as you're happy with a 3rd or 4th place finish, then I won't rain on your parade.

Re: TOP PLAYERS IN S.O.C. 1 & 2

Off the top of my head, I'm sure I'm forgetting someone Burg - Spradlin Waverly - Henderson twins Northwest - Scarberry Valley - Rolfe, Brown Minford - Rowe, Kelly, Gullion South Webster - Zimmerman West - Davis Overall, I think Rolfe, Rowe, Davis and Scarberry will be the top individual players in ...

Re: Valley 7-1(1-1) @ Wheelersburg 7-1(2-0)

Do we know who will be playing for Valley? #23 not playing would be irreplaceable This has to be the worst year for injuries I can remember for Valley Injuries are a part of game but it sounds like valley is hanging on to one talented class so it may be difficult to replace those who go down. Burg ...

Re: Valley 7-1(1-1) @ Wheelersburg 7-1(2-0)

As a Burg fan, the guys on Burgfan really make the rest of us look bad. I don't believe they are bad guys but they really cross the line in the attempt to be funny. It would take a high school kid to find them humorous. On to this game... The Indians have scared me all year, because I believe their ...

Re: WEEK8 MINFORD @ WHEELERSBURG SOCII

I see quite a few tape measures in this thread. Bottom line is both Burg and Minford are quality football programs in a quality league. The Pirates are clearly more talented this season and will be way too much for Minford to deal with on the hill tonight. It should be a nice warm for our Pirates wh...

Re: week 7: Wheelersburg (5-1) @ Waverly (3-3) socII

A few weeks ago this looked like a game that could give the Pirates a little trouble... now not so much. Injuries have taken their toll on the Tigers and the Pirates will just be too much. I'm not sure what to think about how this game will turn out score wise due to field conditions, as Waverly's f...

Re: WEEK 6 WHEELERSBURG(4-1) @ COAL GROVE(3-2)

Fellas, fellas, fellas... Our Pirates are darn good football team, but I very much feel that they are what they are. This isn't a bad thing but if history is an indicator with this group, physical teams give them issues when they have the athletes to make big plays. This Pirates team is better than ...

Re: Valley @ Portsmouth West

A famous quote from a Burg fan about the Valley-West game? Wow! The poor West side players and coaches must be really in need of motivation! I mean if it isn't enough that you are playing to knock off the 3 time champ, end a 36 game winning streak, put yourself at the top of the SOC race, and lock d...

Re: Valley @ Portsmouth West

One of these days West is going to beat Valley again. I don't feel like that day is this year, but it will happen again. When West does beat Valley again, this website will be overloaded with people flying out of Dry Run, Careys Run, Pond Creek, Brouses Run, Vaughters Run, and every other holler let...

Re: Valley @ Portsmouth West

I haven't been a member or regular poster on this site, but I have been reading on here for years. What amazes me is that West always seems to be the favorite in this game, always seem to be more physical, always seem to have some sort of advantage, but Valley always seems to win... and win in impre...

Re: Predictions

1. YTB Ironton has the athletes to make a playoff run (got the SP RB) and a lot of other talent 2. Waverly will win the SOC( going out on a limb on this one but they have the right mix of size, speed and talent) If what I heard is true, Waverly is going to struggle this season. I heard a couple of ...

Re: Predictions for SOC I, II and OVC

I wouldn't forget East in SOC I. They were competitive last season and return the majority of their team. The Gerald boy, if he still plays, is tough match up for anyone in the conference and Brown seemed to get better as the year went on. Not only that, but East's homecourt advantage seems to be th...

Re: Predictions for SOC I, II and OVC

Minford should definitely be the favorite in SOC II but they will be tested. My Pirates will be solid and athletic enough to cause problems, but I still think they will struggle to score the basketball. Davis could be a nice surprise next year for the Orange and Black. The real sleeper in SOC II is ...

Re: (1) Valley vs (4) Coal Grove - 3/2 @ Convo

Enjoyed watching my Pirates represent the SOC over the OVC last night, and I expect nothing less today. I watched Grove at Beasts of SE earlier this year, and they played well so I know they are a capable team. The problem is they are playing the best D3 school in the district. It would take a Valle...

Speaking of referees, I started off at the Burg-Minford game last night but decided to head to Oak Hill at halftime. With the early start in Wheelersburg and my Pirates only scoring 13 points in the first half, I took off to watch Valley and Oak Hill. I got there midway through the 1st and the India...
