Re: Southeastern coach

So, has a coach been hired yet? I keep seeing Adams is going to be the coach, but haven’t seen any in the Gazette or WKKJ to confirm it. It was confirmed last night. Mike Adams becomes the 18th. head coach in program history. Coming over from the girls side where he had success (105-63) the last 7 ...

So, has a coach been hired yet? I keep seeing Adams is going to be the coach, but haven’t seen any in the Gazette or WKKJ to confirm it. They will officially hire after April 30th. If Coach Adams wants it I would expect him to be hired at the next board meeting. Not sure if he has officially resign...

Re: Head coaching vacancies

I saw on WKKJ that Adena is accepting applications even though their current coach has not resigned ?? Thought Coach Scott did a nice job and had things going in the right direction. When he took over it was a train wreck and it seemed he was turning it around. Really improved throughout the year l...

Re: Head coaching vacancies

According to a boys thread the Southeastern position will be open. They finished 7-16 this past season and return the majority of their team.

Re: Southeastern coach

They do return the majority of their team and should improve this season. I see about 8-10 kids legitimately competing for the starting spots. Should make for some competitive practices throughout the year making everyone better.

Re: Southeastern coach

This will be the 4th coach in 5 years so obviously not. Eventually you have to give someone time to build a program. Hopefully that is what Coach Adams gets. Team struggled in the regular season a few years ago but made a run to the sweet 16, coach was out. Last year, team won as many games in the l...

Re: Southeastern coach

Good luck to Coach Adams! He's a good guy that cares about the kids. I know I'd trust him as much as anyone with the safety of my child. I think they should make a commitment to give him at least 4 years, though. Slaughter only being given one year and Strausbaugh two was not right. A coach needs a...

Re: 2018-2019 New Boston Glenwood Tigers

I am pretty sure we (Southeastern) are scheduled to play them at the Piketon classic next season. Is the Caldwell kid the only one they lose?

Re: Southeastern coach

Agree, the best route would have been Adams if he was interested 3 years ago. Would have been tough for him to give up the opportunity to coach Ella tho. I would hope he shakes up the entire staff top to bottom in my opinion. I don’t have a problem with Dresbach but think he is most suited as Fresh...

Re: Southeastern coach

If it is coach Adams, I think that would be the best hire for the current situation. I heard he was interested in it 3 years ago when Cox left, I wouldn't have minded if they would have made the switch then. Hopefully he is given ample time, Best of luck. I look for him to shake things up. Opinions ...

Re: Southeastern coach

I have always believed coaching was over rated, hopefully they get the right staff in place that can make everyone happy and be successful. I watched many games this year I saw a lot of growth with the young players. A program heading in the right direction with a youth program the last few years th...

Re: Southeastern coach

Southeastern has won 32 games the last 4 seasons with 3 different coaches. Let that sink in for a minute....as far as the Athletic Director position he was giving that job up before basketball season even began. That was no secret around the Southeastern community, as he is a well respected teacher ...

I don’t see this job drawing much interest.
Agree, did hear a couple people from outside was contacted last week and wasn't interested. The talk today was it was filled yesterday. Who knows. Best of luck to the next coach, should be fun times.

Re: Head Coaching Vacancies

Norm Persin is the 2nd winningest coach in the State of Ohio with close to 750 wins. I don't know if that was the procedure while at Chesapeake, But I've been told that he is rehired as Head Coach, and AD each year. You are correct , I coached many years Track & Field. Had to apply every year, when...

I don’t think that it is that uncommon. They have some young talent and should be decent the next few years , so they will get some interest from the outside.

Re: Head Coaching Vacancies

I had heard that earlier but Strausbaugh decided to not apply. I would be surprised if any school employee would want the basketball Position but I do think a couple will apply for the athletic director. Guess we will have to wait and see who throws their name in the ring by May 1st.

Re: Head Coaching Vacancies

Southeastern is open. Coach has decided to not apply. I do believe the program is/was heading in the right direction. Been nice to see him stay through this freshman group but I don't blame him at all from walking away. Good luck to the next guy this will be the 4th coach in last 5 years. Not apply...

Wonder if Southeastern still has some of that postseason magic of the last couple years in them
No , But the positive is 2 freshman played the majority of the game along with 3 juniors. Should be competitive the next few years.

51-42 final North Adams goes 8-8 at the line. SE had the lead 40-39 around the 2 minute mark. played out like many of their games this year. Just couldn't close the deal. Best of luck to North Adams the rest of the way.

The coaches picked SE to finish 7th. Before the season. if they can upset Huntington that’s is exactly where they wilL ...

Re: Southeastern Basketball - What is going on?

Very little, that position has as much turnover than the coaching positions, probably 4 different people in the last 10 years. Low pay, no say, and take the blame. = Athletic Director.
