Re: Jackson Ironladies getting a high school field?

I finally made it up to a football game last Friday and had a darkened glimpse of the new softball field. Its going to be sweet. Kudos to coach Kunz and all the boosters for their fundraising and volunteer efforts. Good luck this spring and break it in right.

Re: SEOAL Day of Champions

Who cares? Really, does playing for third, fifth, or seventh really excite any of the teams. I know that the coaches in the south agree with me. Why not let the two top teams duke it out, perhaps a 3 game series, to see who the champ is. I realize a 3 game series could sometime put you over your all...

Re: GALLIA ACADEMY- 9 JACKSON- 2

I want to take this opportunity to apologize for actions of an Ironladies' fan during the early part of the game. I have worked very hard over the years to instill in my players the fact that what once was a bitter rivalry should only be an intensly competetive and friendly one. I think my girls und...

Logan 6- Jackson 4
Good game for the most part. Lots of second guessing by coach after this one. Rematch in Logan.

Re: Seoal - South -- How does the League look?

I may not beat Jimmy on the field this year but at least I have beaten him with numbers. Jackson has 41 girls and we are keeping them all. Splitting the 25 JV girls into 2 teams and then splitting the schedule. I can say that in my 7 years at the helm, for personal reasons, we have not made a cut yet.

Re: Seoal - South -- How does the League look?

I met and talked to Coach Phillips today at at sports med clinic. Nice guy and I think he's doing the right things to turn the Chillicothe program around. Best of luck to the lady cavs this season (exept on the days they play a team in red).

Why the hurry?

At the rules interpretation meeting attended by both coaches and umpires a point of emphasis was made about the 20 second rule. The batter has 10 seconds to take her position in the box and the pitcher has the other 10 seconds to pitch the ball. It has bugged me for some time that this time limit ha...

Re: Hillhouse pitching clinic

The clinic has been cancelled. The school administrators did not want to take the liability risk with the ice in the parking lots. Will post when and if it gets rescheduled.

The site of the clinic has been changed from the high school fieldhouse to Northview Elementary school. I am notifying all registrants but also decided to post it here.

Re: Best Softball Complexes

Just remember that looks aren't everything. Give me a great surface with good drainage and no overbearing sun problems. Level pitching and batting surfaces, and true hops easily make up for nice windscreen and bright, new fence.

Re: Hillhouse pitching clinic

Just a few spots left before I will have to cut off the registration period. The numbers are limited so each girl will have as much personal attention from Bill as possible.

Re: SEOAL????

No predictions BC#2, but the Blue Angels are queens of the hill in the south until someone knocks you off. By the way, Jackson will have a new field across from the football stadium this year. Its going to be sweet. The coach is coming back for one final year also to break in the new field. Best of ...

Re: Umpires needed for district all star game in Rio Grande

Why are we asking for volunteers to umpire? We certainly must have enough in the account to pay two umps the normal rate to do the game. Baseball does such a good job running their all district games and here we are begging for someone to ump for free. Also, with the PA available, why don't we annou...

Re: SEOAL Scores and Standings

Total so far from the Gallia-Jackson Strike-Out-Cancer game is $939. The Jackson girls collected $400 which will be sent to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and the Gallia girls collected the rest at the gate and donated a percentage of their hit-a-thon fundraiser. That money will be donated to...

Re: SEOAL Scores and Standings

Portsmouth played a good defensive game and beat Jackson tonight 6-3. The same two teams will hook up in Portsmouth again on Saturday for a makeup that was suppose to be played in Jackson. The game is being moved because Jackson is once again victimized by not having a field of their own and falling...
