Re: Congratulations to Da Burg. 22-0. Not too shabby

Very nice accomplishment! First time I believe the 75-76 team led by Brian Bays and Joe Rase. Rase set the scoring record that year that Tanner Holden broke this year.

Parker won’t come to Burg because his Dad hates the Burg but yeah Parker in the backfield and Mathews in the slot would be nice. Would be hard to stop both.

Re: Canton To Host OHSAA 2019 Baseball and Football State Tournaments

Can’t believe Paladin hasn’t posted on this how NEO deserves to host those two sports as well in state championship games because all of the best teams in the state are from that area.

Someone in Canton has pictures of someone within the OHSAA that they don’t want seen.

Also, don’t forget about Makya Matthews at Wheelersburg! He has the potential to go big probably at a defensive position.

Not having taken college boards dos not stop offers. If they think he has talent for their level of competition,he’ll get offered, period. If you look at film on him, the speed he has shows . It also shows he has good field vision and cuts well. But it also shows lack of strength in not being able ...

Re: A Better Idea For The OHSAA State Football Playoffs

Move the state finals to Mapfre stadium in Columbus. Plenty of seating and parking and centrally located.

Also, in the article in 2017 in DV one of the State semifinals was played at Chillicothe.

1991 and Sparta Highland instead of Sugarcreek Garaway.

Oak Hill instead of Chesapeake when Bendolph played.

True and true. Oaks were 20-0 going into that game. Was that the second Or third Norm coached team Burg beat in the sectionals when they were undefeated?

Re: 2019 Southeast District -- Official Seeding/Brackets (Div II, III & IV) Updates and Scores Thread

Going undefeated is a tremendous accomplishment, and it's not Wheelersburg's fault that the SOC II is not that strong this year. The non-conference schedule is not real difficult, but I give the Burg credit for at least leaving the SE district for a couple of games up north. Normally, East Liverpoo...

Re: Wheelersburg vs South Webster, 2/12/19

Great win tonight Burg! Got out to the lead, Webster stormed back and then Burg defense took over. Both Holden and Blevins had nice dunks. Blevin's dunk kind of came out of nowhere as it looked like he was going in for the layup and then just elevated for the one hand slam. Very Impressive to say th...

Re: Logan/Wheelersburg/Chillicothe

Was trying to think of my “Elite 8”...but couldn’t get to #1, 2 or 3 and satisfied with it. To me these 3 teams are out in front of everyone else and while the Sheridan’s, Warren’s and others may prove otherwise...these are the 3 To me...I think Burg and Logan are darn near carbon copies. Each team...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Waverly, Friday, 2/1/19

Schwartzel might be a good ref when he calls games other than against Burg. I would like to be able to find out the amount of calls he has made against Burg over the years compared to the other team. All I was wondering is I would just like to know what caused him to hate Burg like he does. Did Barr...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Waverly, Friday, 2/1/19

Holden will get 2 fouls early and then get two more in the 3rd and Waverly will be amped up and on fire. Waverly 63 Da Burg 51 Here for my crow. I nailed the first part but Waverly couldn’t score. Wheelersburg was far and away the better team. I thought Burg was timid on defense under the basket af...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Waverly, Friday, 2/1/19

As a neutral observer last night I thought the officiating was fine. I said this last night and I will repeat it. The only thing that made me shake my head is that after the 3rd quarter burg had 7 fouls and Waverly had 1. The 7 for Burg were fine. The 1 for Waverly was a little of allowing the team...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Waverly, Friday, 2/1/19

Someone said it here first and I agree, it’s hard to call a game like that one. You could literally call a foul on every play. The better team won, officiating didn’t determine the outcome, all you can ask. Waverly shot horrendous from the field and free throw line, credit the defense and just havi...

Re: Jackson vs. Wheelersburg round 2

Won’t happen burg doesn’t want a loss. Tanner would be overwhelmed greedy and in foul trouble before half. Jackson would feed off the home court advantage. Burg would quit and be beat by 20. Burg would do good to shot 60% from the ft line. Davis owns the paint tanner will be bullied and frustrated ...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Waverly, Friday, 2/1/19

I’m impressed with the depth Burg showed tonight. As far as the calls, Waverly is a tough team to officiate. They’re pressing the line physically at all times. But, they have a lot of quickness and athleticism that makes it difficult for officials to be consistent. As we all know, the SOC assigns t...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Waverly, Friday, 2/1/19

I’m sure Steven wasn’t happy with the way the game was officiated and my guess, since they tried a full court pass to Holden, they were trying to get Holden a dunk to send a message.

Don’t poke the bear!!

Re: Jackson vs. Wheelersburg round 2

Burg would win because in the second matchup they wouldn’t go away from Holden in the 4th qtr and would not blow a 15 point lead which they did in the first game. Burg kept jacking up threes when they had by far the best player on the court that Jackson had no one that could guard him once he got th...

I wasn’t close to the court but was at the game and I didn’t see any of the attitude stuff from anyone.
There was some talk back and forth by both teams but noting like the first matchup.
