Praise God! Pfloyd, we continue to pray for you and your family. Your battle has been one of inspiration to many and we will never know how many have and are fighting this evil called cancer. A niece, in Wheelersburg, has begun her fight and I and will share your battles with her. Prayers from Arizo...

Re: Leagues That Your Scool Has Been A Member Of
Portsmouth High School has been member of several leagues in its history but the league I remember was the GOL Greater Ohio League, I think this league consisted of PHS, Middletown, Springfield, Hamilton and LIma. Springfield and Hamillton at one time split into two schools each. This league was the...

Re: Portsmouth Football Coach
just my two cents worth, which is about nothing... We have open enrollment here in Arizona and I have mixed feeling toward them. Charter schools are becoming huge here and are into sports and other after school events. From a standpoint of not having children in school for over 30 years I do think o...

Re: Chesapeake Coach
I would say give those three students a crying towel! Don't play, they have given three young men a chance to play, they are only living up to the perception of, I don'like it so I will show them.
Transfer, play or keep on walking the halls of CHS. Just my opinion.

Re: Who will take over in Portsmouth
Here is an idea from way, way out west. Drop football and start that game where the ball is kicked and let the kids go play football at another school. IMO, open enrollment is a killer.
This way no more 2 year football coach to worry over. The football park will make a great venue for soccer.

Re: 2017 Portsmouth Trojans
This is just my opinion. Burg vs PHS not playing each other. Okay, PHS football has been, for lack of a better word, terrible for some time and obviously Burg had been the opposite. Now Burg had been getting zero power points by beating PHS so burg scheduling a stronger opponent will benefit them ov...

Re: 2017 OVC Preview/Predictions
I do indeed hope the Trojans have 8-2, 9-1 shoot even 10-0. I am basing my opinion on PHS football history the last decade. I, unfortunately do not live in Portsmouth and have only folks such as yourself to guide me and others such as I thru SEO sports. As TrojanDave said if PHS can improve by one t...

Re: SOC I in trouble?
Does Ohio have 8 man football? If the small schools, which it appears SEO have plenty, perhaps an option would be 8 man. We have this in Arizona and it works nicely for the smaller schools. It allows schools that you have mentioned to continue to play tackle football while hopefully building their ...

Re: 2017 OVC Preview/Predictions
Now that Portsmouth has dropped Wheelersburg from the schedule, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Trojans go no worse than 8-2 and land a playoff berth. The OVC title could come down to the last game of the season when PHS visits Tank Stadium to battle Ironton. I rarely show optimism for the fo...
