or maybe one you haven't heard of yet :)
So why is the Buckeye 8/12 bad for Cambridge? Travel?

Re: MVL Football

I don't think OHSAA will go back to 8 teams in a region. And yes due to the money. I went to a high school that was the doormat of the league. They moved to another league. They are the doormat there as well. Obviously neither league I am talking about is the MVL. So let's say they make the crossove...

Re: MVL Football

I answered your question MVL fan, but not directly. Let me throw this out. Say the OHSAA is pressured to go back to 8 teams per division for football. A small school (like New Lex, Meadowbrook, Coshocton, West M....pick 1) is just destroying all MVL opponents at all levels of biddy league and contin...

Re: MVL Football

I normally reread stuff I post a couple times before hitting submit. Rarely give specifics. It's easy for people with part of the info to form opinions that feel right to them but off base. The MVL functions well as a league and there is a lot of respect among schools. Next to never do disagreements...

Re: MVL Football

It's 2018. 9 schools looking out for each other trying to do what is best for the league as a whole. Let's take the 9 team MVL and expand by bringing in 3 schools and going to divisions. More opportunities for schools to win titles. Yes there will be a little more travel but I'm sure parents will be...

Re: MVL Football

Spring 2022 numbers were used for school years 2024-25, 2025-26, 2026-27, 2027-28.

Unless by-laws are changed, spring 2026 number will be used for 2028-29 and following 3 years.

So spring 2024 numbers mean nothing as far as setting divisions.

Re: Best Lineman 2024?

Tri-Valley returns the entire starting OL and DL plus has a couple of guys who started in August but lost to injury or eligibility who return. A normal Tri-Valley year is 3 or 4 good lineman and a bunch of tough kids doing their best to fill in the rest of the spots. This year they have about 8 to 1...

Re: Who wins the MVL 2024

Big Tri-Valley. I don't think anyone will even get close to beating them in the MVL. BUT, after 2024 Tri-Valley is going to drop back quite a bit. I'm guessing they will still be top 3, but Coach West will need to "coach'em up" a good bit to get a league title. The rest: Sheridan, John Gle...

Re: MVL Football

As I said earlier, none of the MVL schools are going anywhere. There were no package deals when the MVL expanded. Just a vote that brought in the 3 teams and left out 1. Looking at the school sizes when the vote occurred, the smaller the school the more votes they got. Most MVL schools wanted school...

Re: MVL Football

No expansion talk. Cambridge sends a letter of interest to the MVL most years. If one team ever leaves I see Cambridge as an automatic invite. Zanesville would love to be in the MVL but I don't see them applying since they know they would not get enough votes. About 2004, Heath wanted in the MVL rig...

Re: MVL Football

Funny. MVL talk moved off the TSL thread and we are back to talking about the TSL and TVC. That's fine, but still funny, I don't see any MVL schools jumping ship. Just a few schools looking at what is best for them as an individual school instead of what is best for the MVL. That is just not the way...

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?

PS. Meadowbrook, Coshocton, and River View were informed how the schedule for each sport was going to be including the mandatory 2 cross over football games before the MVL approved them or the Boards of Ed for those 3 schools approved it. Crooksville plays Morgan and Philo in mandatory cross over ga...

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?

LCL talk With Intel coming to the western end of the LCL, in 5-10 years there will likely be some D1 LCL schools. Could see the eastern end of the LCL have teams jump on any MVL openings to get with schools of a similar size. Can someone start an MVL, LCL, IVC talk thread so we can turn this back ov...

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?

MVL talk. To my knowledge Crooksville is not looking to go anywhere. They were one of the schools that pushed for divisions and it just happened to come during a time when the number of athletes is down. I know a lot of people think (maybe even me) that they are too small for the MVL, but that is th...

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?

I did some checking and the LCL has 1 mandatory crossover game and it is based on size. Weeks 1-4 are non-league (or on your own with a league opponent) Week 5 is mandatory crossover. Weeks 6-10 are division games. Week 5 - school size rank in ( ) Licking Heights (1) v Lakewood (7) Watkins Memorial ...

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?

Why would the small schools care about Zanesville joining? Much better trip than any of the others that were added, but would be a big school, so only one game a season against them. No offense to the blue devils, but they are far from a giant in any sport currently. When the MVL looked to expand t...

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?

My take: Morgan will not be interested in another league unless they can guarantee the same number of games they are currently getting in the MVL. 7 football, 16 basketball, 16 volleyball, 16 baseball, 16 softball, 9 soccer, etc. plus full middle school schedules. Morgan is the longest trip for abou...
