Re: WEEK 8 -- 4-3 COAL GROVE @ 5-2 IRONTON -- BORDER WAR SPECIAL

Yikes!! CG assistant kicking the ball in anger back on the field was the most ridiculous thing I have seen in a while. Be an example for your student athletes coach! Absolutely should have been flagged regardless of which official called the penalty. Then the head coach had to run to restrain an ass...

Re: WEEK 8 -- 4-3 COAL GROVE @ 5-2 IRONTON -- BORDER WAR SPECIAL

Observers at the Tank for practice said the pads were really popping tonight on defensive day. The Hornets better expect to get hit squarely in the mouth when the bus doors open on Friday.

Re: WEEK 8 -- 4-3 COAL GROVE @ 5-2 IRONTON -- BORDER WAR SPECIAL

I expect the Hornet run defense will be tested early and often by the Fighting Tigers. Tiger OL Coach John Prior has done a nice job improving his players execution in the trenches after heavy losses were suffered due to graduation and transfer. The Fighting Tiger running game is for real and pass p...

If Ironton plays turnover free it will be a tough night for CG.

Re: OVC Predictions

SVAC

Some of your French City brethren seem cock sure that the the Blue Devils will walk through The Grove on Friday. That has been a hard place to win over the years for GA.

Don't get caught looking ahead to the Tigers.

Re: OVC Predictions

Aren't you listening? It's over OVC fans.

Gallipolis followers have already annointed Penrod's minions as league champs. No need to even play the rest of the games. Where's the gold football for the trophy case?

3 years ago you could hardly find a Gallia Academy fan on here. Lmbo.

Jottings is still the best poster in the history of the site.

Cant believe the Grove lost the Little Brown Jug to this Peake team. Last years charmed season seems like a long time ago doesn't it?

Re: Ironton 16 Russell KY 7

I believe the conditioning Ironton did this summer paid off in spades on this steamy night at Ivan McGlone Field. Tigers were still fresh in the fourth quarter and the Devils seemed fatigued.

Ironton - 16 Russell- 7

Re: Greatest Wheelersburg Coach

LMBO Jolly P(irate)'s lips moved but he didn't say anything. Jolly P(irate) = Jim Tressel Here is my stab at it. 1. Ed Miller - Icon. State title. Built the program to state level prominence. 2. Larry Hall - Woodward has the trophy but Hall had the Burg at a very high level too. I have them at a tie...

Re: 2018 Ironton Fighting Tigers The Pendleton Era

Agree Tiger80 but who didn't think OL would have a steep learning curve? Two of last years starters transferred to out of state schools. Klaiber and Redmond graduated. Only Humphreys at tackle returns as a full time starter from last year and he is playing his third position in three years after man...

Re: WK1 2018 Coal Grove @ River Valley

Coal Grove will have one of the most explosive offenses in the area. If the defense can help hold opponents I see this being another great run for the grove in 2018. Coal Grove rolls and starts week 1 with a win over the raiders. 45-21 CG will win several games but the OL/DL aren't on the same leve...

Re: WK1 2018 Ironton @ Wheelersburg

Went to the previews , didn’t realize how many Itonton coaches are coaching at Rock hill now . You have mark Lutz who was groomed to take over after Bob , Lou mains who was the WB coach for years at ironton including in 89 a state championship year along with Bart and Red Burcham . And 3 coaches ha...

Re: 2018 Ironton Fighting Tigers The Pendleton Era

Kutty, You have made your point. Ironton is shrinking and aging. These factors are reality and make the Tiger job less attractive than it once was and the program performing at a lower level than past glory days. We get that. Point acknowledged. Move on Bro! I hope you don’t fault a town and familie...
