Re: Wellston Football

Sounds like the "winds of change" are starting to blow through Wellston. As for the Wellston/Jackson rivalry . . . Wellston has not had much recent success, but if you go this game (and I do when I can) it is packed and the crowds are great. I'm not from either town so I don't have a dog i...

Re: Wellston vs. Jackson

I guess it is that time again . . . Wellston/Jackson. I could save some type time by just doing a cut and paste from last year's comments. Wellston will be their usual 4-6 and I do believe Jackson will be in for another tough year. No transfers to bolster their line-up this year and a real schedule....

Re: 2013 Nelsonville-York Buckeyes

Solid consistent coaching every year, tough physical kids, good program team. They will always be 6-4 or better almost every year and even with a few or minimal loses, will play hard every Friday night.

Re: 2013 Wellston Golden Rockets

I'll bet if I went back and looked at my last year's post about this time it would read the same, "Same old same old in Wellston, lots of talk early from the faithful few and few wins on the field." 4-6 or 5-5 at the best.

Re: 2013 Vinton County Vikings

Not sure about improvement if you are going to measure it in wins. Maybe by increased numbers and success at the lower levels. I ask simply . . . who are they going to beat on that schedule? Wellston won't be very good (4-6 or 5-5 at best) but they have beaten VC pretty good the past few years. So, ...

Re: GAHS FOOTBALL 2013

Well Devils it looks like this . . . you are down to two. One coach from a fairly local school. He has done a very good job starting out with NOTHING! The second is a younger coach that I know very little about. There will be no one from the staff hired as head coach. Remember . . . you heard it her...

Re: Logan Football 2013

Billy Burke is a good coach. I have known him since his Lancaster days and coaching in Hilliard. He will bring toughness and discipline to the Logan program. Don't pay much attention to some (they should post their record as head coach) that only look at his record. From watching your team play this...

Re: Wellston Football

There is some humur in your post Bleeding Red and some truth. You can almost cut and paste the posts on here for the last 5-7 years . . . same old same old. Seems like they always use the youth excuse in Wellston or the coaches. I think the coach has been there 3 years so it is almost time for them ...

Re: D4, REGION 15- IRONTON VS. JOHNSTOWN

Funny funny Bleeding Red . . . maybe paladin should become a game "handicapper" because we all know he can't coach. He can only come by here with his overrated comments, weak schedule, same old broken record. I know what his record was . . . ha ha ha ha ha

Re: Oak Hill Football 2012

Can anyone tell me who all is on the Oak's staff this year. I believe that Coach Allen and Coach Harden have been mentioned as being varsity assistants this year. That is great news for the Oaks if true. Anyway, good luck to the Oaks and Coach Dugan this year.

Re: Jackson @ Wellston 2012

Not trying to argue GalliaGrad78 . . . I like the SEOAL. I think it is/was a very good league. However, I feel that the last 3 years or so it has been way down in the quality of teams and players. As for staying on subject . . . sorry Boilermaker . . . battle of 2 not very good teams . . . Jackson b...

Re: Jackson @ Wellston 2012

Guess I don't have to provide much info for my statement . . . someone that has actually coached in the league provided the info needed. However, let's just go back to the 2003 or 2004 seasons . . . Jackson/playoffs, Logan/playoffs, Gallia Academy/playoffs, Athens had a very solid team in 2003. Sinc...

Re: Jackson @ Wellston 2012

Same old same old for these two teams . . . Wellston will underacheive and be 4-6 or 5-5 at best and Jackson will be overrated and win a lot of games in an SEOAL that is as down as I have ever seen it.

Re: Hillarious Comment on HS Coaches and Jim T...

I talked to a local coach last week who just laughed at the idea. For anyone that thinks this was an isolated incident from Saint Jim . . . you are a fool. Has he done some good things for Ohio High School Football, yes. Should the coaches do this, no. At least this is one Ohio State fan that doesn'...

Re: Chilly leaving SEOAL??

Jackson, Gallia Academy, and Portsmouth are out in the cold. TVC will NOT invite or take Jackson and Gallia. Jackson has been borderline D2 and Wellston along with Vinton County already play them. As of now, if they lose to Jackson it does not effect their league so why would they want them in the l...

Re: SOC 1 Predictions

The Oaks will be a little better than most think. One of the best linemen in the area regardless of school size, real good te coming back, and the fb/ber, I think his last name is Davis is a real nice player. Good thing for the Hornets huh fuzz. 84 - 26 in two playoff games!!
