Re: THURSDAY NIGHT SCORES & SCHEDULE

Chesapeake... 5
Rock Hill....... 2

Peake pitching has been good enough this year to win 18-20 games. Too bad you have to score runs too! ;-)

At least they are all coming back next year!

Re: MONDAY SCHEDULE, SCORES, CANCELATIONS

Chesapeake shuts out River Valley 4-0 as Blake Lester tosses a no hitter, including 19Ks. Big win for Peake and a big rebound for Lester as he took the loss Friday night against South Point. Had nothing on his fastball and curve had no bite that night and South Point took advantage. Tonight, much di...

Re: SATURDAY 4-12-14 GAMES

Peake over Fairland 4-3. Great pitching effort by both Henson for Peake and Damron for Fairland. Clutch 2 out hits by Lester and Hutchison were the difference. A lot of these boys play together in the summer and fall, so this game is pretty tough emotionally. But this was a big hurdle to get over by...

Re: OVC

Peake looked good in scrimmage vs. Portsmouth Notre Dame Monday night, winning 11-1 against the Titans in a game stopped in the 7th inning for darkness. Only a scrimmage but Lester and Henson surrendered only 2 hits combined and 10ks in 5 2/3 innnings of work. Probably the most encouraging thing to ...

Re: OVC

Peake returns 7 starters, 0 seniors. At least at this point. 4 solid starting pitchers.... will relief hold up? Strong top 4 hitters, but how will the bottom of the order hit and how strong will the outfield be?

Re: Division III District Tournment Semifinals at Waverly

Just one final comment on the Waverly/Chesapeake end of game. I was sitting just to the right of the Wellston bench and when the pass was being thrown to the girl cutting to the basket, I heard more than one coach scream "No, No, No!". Obviously they were unhappy with the act. Glad the gir...

Re: Coaching openings

Only one baseball player on the varsity I think. I was glad to hear Dwight and Andy are going to be the assistants. Varsity basketball will win the next two games and make it to the Convo. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens this year. If this team comes together they could really be somethi...

Re: C'Peake beat Oak Hill in OT?

Great win for the Lady Panthers! I will admit, I did not think this was possible. This season has been up and down, not because of talent, but from what I've seen a lack of discipline and consistent effort. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the win, but to beat a team like Oak Hill, you have to have...

Re: Coaching openings

Since the baseball coach will be assisting basketball I would be surprised that they start until March. Have they found an assistant for him yet? Weightlifting and conditioning have been going on for two weeks. I believe Dwight Nida and Andy Hall are slated to be assistants and have been working wi...

Re: Coaching openings

Pantherdad, How is baseball conditioning/workouts been going for Peake? This weather makes it impossible to get outside and throw. The non-basketball players have had weightlifting the last couple of weeks, but that is about it. 1st day of "coaching" is February 24th, so that is when ever...

Re: Huntington St. Joe v/s Chesapeake 12/20/2013

Take the "under" on the scorecard. Peake averaging about 50 points a game, giving up 39 points a game. I'll go 48-38 Peake.

Re: Coaching openings

Justin Davis has been named head baseball coach for the Chesapeake Panthers. New to Chesapeake schools this year, Mr. Davis is also the Freshman Basketball coach for Ryan Davis' squad. However, there is no relation.

Is it baseball season yet? Let's get this thing fired up coach!

Yes, that is a final. Not a halftime score. If this game was brought up on charges for being basketball, there would not be enough evidence to convict.

Re: Coaching openings

Any word on the Peake job? Believe there will be board vote Monday night (12/16). Don't want to disclose name ahead of time, but the name I've heard as the front runner would be a face new to the program. Don't know for sure if others are still in the running though. Hopefully we'll know tomorrow n...

Re: Chesapeake v/s South Point 12/13/2013

Believe the final was South Point 45, Chesapeake 39. Peake looked absolutely lost on offense. In my opinion, we aren't using our bench at all the way we should (and mostly just not at all) and we pound the ball into the floor too much. Hopefully tonight was just a perfect storm of poor adjustments f...
