Any local girls sign to play college volleyball this fall?

Coal Grove defeated River Valley last night and earned their first outright OVC Championship in 20 years. Congrats to CGHS Volleyball Team.

Sportsfan, I believe with 2 OVC games left per school Coal Grove has 0 losses, River Valley 2 losses, Chesapeake 3 losses as the top 3 teams.

In the Jackson Summer League Beaver Eastern had the most talented six girls. NY had some big hitters and Gallipolis has alot of talent.

I agree there should be more parity. CG and Chesapeake should be improved. But I am unsure about RV, SP, and Fairland.

All. There is no doubt coaches focus on their own sports first. Look at the participation in football, powerlifting, track. All numbers are high and results are solid. No matter who we blame, if the kids are walking the hallway and want to play basketball and arent that is sad. In life we dont alway...

It would be nice if more interested volleyball fans posted some results since the local papers are very selective on volleyball scores which consists of usually no more than two games mentioned. Coal Grove posted wins this week with a straight set victory over Boyd County KY,
in 4 sets over Portsmouth and 4 sets over an improved Rock Hill team. Great job Hornets.

Who is favored to win the OVC this year? Will River Valley's great run of consecutive championships end?

Has anyone heard when the tryouts are going to be for River Cities Volleyball Club out of Huntington WV?

My daughter is definately interested and we are glad one is starting up in lawrence county. This is long over due and thanks for the efforts in getting one started.

Does anyone know the score of the River Valley and South Point Volleyball meeting and when do they play again?

Anyone have records and standings from each team?

How many days a week are practices. If practices are on the weekend it might make since for girls in the western part of lawrence county like Ironton/Coal Grove/South Point. Practice during the week with Basketball and track would be hard with the distance.
