Re: A look at the Scioto Valley Conference entering the New

WTP, interesting topic, and good to hear considering it is the SVC's 50th anniversary. However, given the fact that most people who watched the great players of the 70's and 80's are in a sense less computer/message board "savvy" than those who watched players from the 90's until now, it w...

Re: Your 6 State Champs?

Quite the opening night with Alter AND LCC both going down...both were considered by some of the bigger "media outlets" as favorites in their respective Divisions. Made the fatal flaw of picking LCC in D5...knew they were AP Poll champs with a D1 college QB, but they definately lacked the ...

Your 6 State Champs?

Usually see a thread on this every year (haven't seen one?)...pick who you think will win in each Division. It's kinda fun to look back and see how good (or bad) we picked: D1: Hilliard Davidson D2: The 'Wood (Trotwood Madison) D3: DeSales D4: Kenton (kinda hate to pick against Hartley though...imo,...

Re: WHO BELIEVES STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS SHOULD BE IN COLUMBUS.

A few thoughts: isn't a 3-day weekend exactly what the boys (and girls) state basketball tourney compromise? 10k in a 100k stadium, eh? Put it this way: the OH$AA would have LOVED to have had 10k at ANY game this year... Or maybe they are happy with the 4k that attended the d2 final? Doubt if these ...

Re: D1 talent in the State Finals

The qb from Winton Woods has already verballed to UC, don't know if their rb is being looked at by d1 schools or not, but he is very good as well. Think the db from Glenville has verballed to tOSU, the jr dlineman from Desales is rated as one of the top players for next year's Sr class, and the rb f...

Interesting... after much discussion on here the last few weeks, all 4 schools playing in the d1 and d2 finals this year are "public"

Re: D4-R16 - Regional Final - Clinton-Massie vs Kettering Alter

Correct Earp, all 4 2008 state bkb champs in Ohio were public schools (Nerk, Chilly, Ottawa-Glandorf, and New Knoxville)... the Public/Private debate is never ending, particularly on sports forums such as this. "Fair" or not, it is the current system in Ohio, and while a team like Massie m...

Re: D4-R16 - Regional Final - Clinton-Massie vs Kettering Alter

Attended the Massie/Kenton game saturday, Massie has a VERY nice football team. Reminds one alot of Ironton... sound, they execute, nice size on the oline, well coached (made some nice adjustments on Kenton and Mauk at halftime) and 3 good backs. Noticed on the Southwest Ohio all-district teams they...

Re: Chillicothe Cavaliers head coach search

During his last coaches show on WBEX, overheard coach D say he was gonna recommend Asst. coach Jeff Metzler for the job... long time Asst. and ran the defense and off-season weight room at Chilly. Ultimately, the Board of Education makes the final call here.

Re: D4 - Region 15: (#6) Zane Trace at (#3) Heath

Probably best to let it go BuckeyeGuy... talked to a high school football official who was there friday night (just watching as an impartial observer), said the conduct by ZT in the 3rd qtr was some of the worst he'd seen in his 25+ years of officiating.

Re: Attendance Figures for the State Tournament Finals

Personally IMO the attendance this year reflects the economic state of Ohio, not the quality of BKB played at the Schott. One of the first things people cut back on in tough times is "entertainment".

Re: Private Religious school drawing from Large Cities.

The public/private debate has been beat like a dead horse in this state. And, unless there are wholesale changes in personnel AND philosophy within the OHSAA, nothing will change. What most should be concerned about (especially in an economically depressed area like SE Ohio), is the impending skyroc...

Re: Chillicothe's Hitchens headed to NCAA Tournament

Krystal may have been Ironman92, but not sure how she is included on the BOYS BKB forum?????? Ross County definately has sent it's share of girls on to play in the "dance"... Cindy Noble, Aubrey Eblin, Tharp, and maybe even Natalie Hill? But in a way, doesn't that show how rare it is for o...

Re: Chillicothe's Hitchens headed to NCAA Tournament

Nickleback, according to ESPN.com, Bowling Green's last NCAA Tourney appearance was 1968, so that would be somewhat before Netter? Hitchbone, if it wasn't Steve Bayless at Bradley, or Mark Bayless at Ohio St., we may be going waaaay back to find the answer to this... maybe as far back as Gordon Mick...
