Re: Just an observation...OHSAA Boys Basketball Poll Champions

Until the private schools ate placed ib their own divisions this cannot be fixed. Fix what? The schools just voted on this issue a couple of years ago and it went failed and it failed miserably. The principals of OHIO's High Schools vote on the issues. Over 800 schools voted, of which over 675 are ...

Re: Just an observation...OHSAA Boys Basketball Poll Champions

Poll Champions are created by the media. The on court results were 75% of the titles in the girls side went to public schools. Bet you do not write a story about that.

Re: N W VS BURG

The officiating wasn’t the best. But they were equal opportunity officials for both sides. Was it a very Physical game? If you watched, then you know. NW has 4 seniors, who have been thru the gauntlet and can handle it. Burg has some underclassmen that didn’t handle it well. great win for Mohawknat...

Re: D2 District Semi-Finals

Barlow- I have to disagree, it just wasn't the Bulldogs' day. I really thought they were prepared to make a deep tournament run with the way that they dominated the TVC this year. I've said it before that this program is a sleeping giant and Coach K has built such a solid foundation from the ground...

Re: OHSAA Board of Directors Approves Expansion Proposal

I really hope they don't break the state tournament experience but I'd say it is almost certainly going to a two day championship format at one site (Dayton). They'll play the D4/5/6/7 games on Saturday and the D1/2/3 games on Sunday. I'd guess that they will break them into 28 regions like they do...

Re: OHSAA Board of Directors Approves Expansion Proposal

Listened to the Coaches Show this morning on WMOA and they had a few perspectives but Marietta AD Cody Venderlic and Coach Maddox both liked the move. I personally like the idea of it but as Venderlic brought up, how will this affect the postseason if SEO doesn't have enough teams for a division? W...

Re: D2 District Semi-Finals

No disrespect taken Jonjon. This is the time of the year that coaching can tip the scales and I think Athens coach is one of the best in the area and will have his players ready. Looking forward to it! How did this game play out? Sorry Granddad, but the TVC is doing nothing to get Athens ready for ...

Re: OHSAA Board of Directors Approves Expansion Proposal

I tend to agree that there will no longer be sectional tournaments. The OHSAA hasn't recognized that for years. District tournaments will now be roughly 8-9 teams each. I could see the quarterfinal round at home sites, with semis and finals still at neutral sites. Bring back the fan experience. Put...

Well we know they are not specializing on football. I'd say its a down run of athletes, it happens.

Instead of expanding so much. Take out the private schools from the tournament and let them have their own.. That is a vote by the member schools Principals. They have voted (more than once) to stay together. That's on them. As for State Championship weekend, the Semi-Finals will be played at neutr...

Re: Basketball expanding to 7 divisions

I wonder if this a way to get Richmond Hts out of the d4 division, at least move them up some, wonder what the division numbers will look like for the 7 divisions Nah, the Ohsass doesn’t care about that. It’s simply a way for them to generate more money to pay for their lavish expenses for their “m...

Coaching is clearly important. Nobody said it wasn't. Here is a current economic map. Steubenville, for example, has never been economically distressed and has even been a boom town at one time. Jefferson county is not what it once was, but it is not an economically distressed county and is within ...

What is the avg attendance per game? Surely there are venues around Columbus that can handle the seating. It doesn't need to be at OSU, does it? What regional fan base consistently puts asses in seats? Can you imagine the outcry if OU stadium un athens hosted the state championships! It would autom...
