I think Fairland has too much for LC. However, I picked Wheelersburg to beat them and Wheelersburg didn't show up. So, it's anybody's guess. Just for the H--- of it, I'll take Fairland by 8 points.

The Wheelerburg coach, today, had his mind on something else.

I'm embarrassed at having forgotten to mention Stiverson among the really great coaches who's teams appear in the Convo. He can take a pretty average group of kids and get them to play amazing basketball. A truly great coach.

Chesapeake has an edge in talent on the floor. Eastern has Beuclar, which is a key. I will go out on a limb and take Eastern strictly because of Beuclar. And, I know that Davis is no slouch, either.

VC will beat Fairfield Union by a comfortable margin. Combs will be a couple of jumps ahead of FU's coach from the opening tip. Now, John Glenn may be a different story.

Unioto, a very good team, was not state tournament caliber. I doubt that VC is, either.

Doug is a great guy and a great official. I am happy for him.

But, I wouldn't argue with the guy who chose Persin, or the guy who took Howie Caldwell. Both of them are terrific coaches as is Matt Combs. Beuclar, Barrick, Persin, Caldwell and Combs ALL have to be among the best coaches in Ohio.

"Tom Barrick" I remember that, when Beuclar's son, R.J. Beuclar played for Eastern, they Beat Barrick's Wheelersburg team by 22 points in the District semifinals at Athens. Barrick had the big kid who played at Wright State (Berleson), then. Didn't help him. I've seen both of them coach do...

Rob Beuclar, of Eastern Brown is one of the best coaches in the southern half of the state. Year in and year out, his teams are well prepared for whatever comes along. This year's team is not terribly talented, but, they will not be a pushover for anybody.

Nearly everybody picked Lynchburg over Wheelersburg, but, I will take Wheelersburg because of a tougher schedule. Also, I will take Vinton County to upset Unioto. I would take Fairfield Union over Miami Trace, but that is purely a guess, because I haven't seen either of them. The rest - flip a coin.

As a fan who had never seen EITHER Fairfield or East, I was extremely impressed with Fairfield. Everybody I talked to in Scioto County said East would coast through this game. I have not been able to get to a Waterford game. Are they capable of making a strong tournament run? Are they big inside?

Eastern Brown is not a very good team, but, they have a great coach. I wouldn't be surprised at anything.

I didn't hear abt. Grnfd. McClain getting a new big man. Did they recruit one?

Will there be another new coach at ZT? And, maybe, a new Super as well?
