Re: Portsmouth Basketball 2009-10

According to Coach Collins on the radio program this morning, Seth Bratchett is done for the year due to injury. Hate to hear that. Hope he recovers and comes back strong next season.

Re: Top defensive players in the Area

Tre Underwood for Portsmouth is one of the best post defenders bar none. PHS's best perimiter defender is Wayne Evans but that's only because Forrest Johnson is a lil too aggressive sometimes. But for my money if we had one possession for all the marbles, I'm putting Fo on your best scorer.

Re: Chillicothe @ Portsmouth 1/5 2010

Oh and another thing, that London kid had too vicious dunks. If I recall correctly, the 1st was in the first quarter and the second late in the fourth. I've seen previous Trojan teams, in recent years, have a dunk against them and then it seemed the air was let out of the team the rest of the game. ...

Re: Chillicothe @ Portsmouth 1/5 2010

Great game as mentioned by the previous posts. One thing that I wish we could've seen more of was Isaiah Reeves. Not that it would've definitively made the difference but I just think he's a gamer. I don't have any additional comments about the game that hasn't already been stated but I was thinking...

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #5

I like how my Trojans are ranked ahead of an undefeated south webster team that beat Portsmouth at Portsmouth. I actually like being under the radar, at least for now. I think if we played them(South Webster) now we'd beat them so i get your logic. But with those losses to South Webster and the stin...

Re: Chillicothe @ Portsmouth 1/5 2010

I said it before and I'll say it again, if the Trojans bring their "A game" they can beat anybody in the SEOAL, as it's not a coincidence we have yet to do so. With me grading our best performance that I've seen thus far, being against Wheelersburg with a B minus. And TrojanDave, if I reca...

Re: Final: Portsmouth 55 Marietta 43

My take on the game goes as follows: The Trojans couldn't make anything in the first 3 quarters. There was no buzz to this game, surprising to me. For it to be a home game and coming off of 3 straight wins the crowd never got into it at all. There wasn't much to cheer for early on but the purpose of...

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #3

BiggdowggAfter seeing the Trojans with South Webster would you have ever believed they could get off to a possible 3-0 start in the SEOAL.I think if FoJo would have been with this team from the start they could have been at this point undefeated, If not 4-1 Forrest was with the team from the start,...

Re: Marietta (2-3) (0-2) @ Portsmouth (3-2) (2-0) on 12/29

I anticipate we got our road legs out of the way in the game against Jackson and we'll hammer Marietta. But at the rate we've played all year I wouldn't be surprised if we went down the wire with Marietta either. We'll see how the mighty men of Troy handle success when we're favored to win, at least...

Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth

What a game! These Trojans are learning on the fly what it takes. The coaches have their coaching points that they can work on, I'm sure. For example, At the end of the 4th with less than a minute to go...The Trojans held the ball for the last shot but when it came down to it they went too early. Wa...

Re: Portsmouth Basketball 2009-10

I'll be front row for this tripleheader then probably move around after the start of the JV game and then of to the upperdeck for the Varsity game. I say this portion of the season is the return of the fan. I remember round this stretch last year there was a buzz for the Chilicothe game then the air...

Re: Portsmouth @ Warren 12/18

From what I've heard Warren is picked to be one of the elite's of our league. If this is the case then we've got a great measuring stick from this game. Again another slow start, hopefully we can have a consistent flow to our games from here on out.

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #3

i kinda like being under the radar. I think the kids can handle being the hunter but I want these teams to see us and be surprised by our swagger as the season progresses. They can get that swagger with a few more wins under there belt which will breed confidence. I'd say early to mid january will b...

Re: Jackson @ Portsmouth

Looking forward to this game back from a short road trip against Wheelersburg and Warren. I hope the fan fair will be there as I believe this game could garner a lil more buzz to the feel of this team. I don't think expectations of the fans have been there yet but if we can pull a couple more wins o...

Re: Portsmouth @ Warren 12/18

Woke up this morning listening for scores to see if the Trojans won on the radio, since I missed the game. Caught the tail end of the conversation with former Trojan skipper Shoemaker. Then I heard Skip Hickman anounce his next guest on the radio program was in studio, and that being coach Collins. ...

Re: Portsmouth Basketball 2009-10

Last word I heard was that Tory said he expects(hopes) to play Fri. against Warren. All contingent upon paperwork and getting the ok. Don't know if that's just him being optimistic but that's the last I heard. I've gotten the feeling from other onlookers that it's a foregone conclusion that they'll ...

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #2

Was at the Piketon vs. Mifflin game, and I have to commend the Restreaks on a GREAT effort.......Evan Legg was OUTSTANDING for Piketon.......as I recall, he never came out of the game.......in a very uptempo pace.......the kid is in GREAT shape. But it is no shame to lose to 4-0 Mifflin.......the P...

Re: Final: Portsmouth 64 @ Wheelersburg 60 on 12/15/09

I didn't get to attend the game but did listen to it on the radio, and if it was the same refs that did the NB/Clay game then I feel sorry for the players. As Yabababa said, they were clowns in that game. A guy told me that the fat bald ref wouldn't make a call all night, and as far as I saw he did...

Re: Final: Portsmouth 64 @ Wheelersburg 60 on 12/15/09

Good luck to Mr. Bendolph and Wheelersburg the rest of the season. Great game tonight. I have a feeling this win will go down in history as one of the best Portsmouth victories over Wheelersburg; given all the 'stories' surrounding this game : (1) Mr. Bendolph leaving the Trojans and joining the Pi...

Re: Final: Portsmouth 64 @ Wheelersburg 60 on 12/15/09

Let me say this, Portsmouth finally got off to a good start. They couldn't keep it going but they weathered the storm. They went down in the 3rd by about 14. They could've folded right there. Later they forced some timely turnovers. They take the lead late in the game. Portsmouth had to hold on late...
