valley does not have a freshman team. players moving up and injuries left them without a team. should be a decent varsity club. depends on how some players progressed from last year.

predictions are interesting. next year is next year. minford will struggle with loss of so many starters. waverly returns many good players and their jv team looked good. however, coaching chage? big burg losses are at the defense. burg usually builds from the back forward. look forward to next year.

got to see d2 and d1 firsthand. i did not know it was streaming over the net. both games were good to watch.

oh the joy of year-end awards. "fairness" is the alpha and omega of desires. just remember it doesn't exist. to quote the great dr friedman from the show mash, "sometimes you just need to take your pants down and slide on the ice".

there are exceptions to every rule. waverly has one fresh mentioned over another. figure that out. but as an entire group (all district sel) is mostly about scoring and only when you get into 2nd and hm do you see defense represented.

looking at the girls division thought that raven from west p should have had better than honorable mention. saw her several times this year and thought she played really well in a coed group.

i think valley and burg win more than people think

well it looks as if you need to be a "scorer" to earn first team honors. with only a few exceptions that is the case. congrats to those with the first team selections, but you would think defense would get more consideration. i guess they feel they can score more than the defense gives up....

this will never be resolved. open enrollment has leveled the field in some areas but not completely. a private vs public bracket is not realistic for high school. at least open enrollment has leveled the playing field in some sports.
