Re: What does Gallia Co. football need?
I was thinking that the GA track was about 350... but that's immaterial. Like somebody said, track (especially the girls at GA) has been the best sport in Gallia County for a LONG time... again, immaterial. I would love to see a TOTAL COMMITMENT to excellence in football as a way to get things goin...

Re: D5 - R19: (2) Oak Hill vs. (6) Ridgewood at Lancaster
I hear Ridgewood brings a lot of speed to the table. We shall see how the Oaks can handle all around sound athletes with good speed.

Re: D5 - Region 19: (#7) Coal Grove at (#2) Oak Hill
If Coal Grove can move the ball with their running game and keep the Oaks offense off the field as much as possible, they win. I think the physical play CG proves to be too much for the Oaks.

Re: SOC2: Portsmouth West (5-2) @ Lucasville Valley (6-1)
I think this will be a well played and close game. I know Coach Tripplet and Coach Crabtree will have their teams ready. I have a lot of respect for both coaches. West's physical play is always hard to stop and Valley has some real playmakers this year. I wish both squads well.

Re: SOC1 Oak Hill (6-0) @ Notre Dame (1-4)
Notre Dame has some athletes. Their QB can get rid of the ball pretty quickly and has some receivers that are capable of making big plays. Good luck to both squads and be safe

Re: WK 6 (0-5) River Valley @ (0-5) South Point OVC
Carter had the honor of trying to coach in the SEOAL after the South Gallia students had left the school. He also was being picked apart by the recruiting efforts of the surrounding districts through open enrollment. As a rule his teams were strong, fast and the players had a great deal of respect ...

The gentleman coaching that RV squad is doing what he can with what he has. Fact is he just doesn't have a whole hellofalot to work with. Sure they look big and strong, but those kids are still in the learning stages. So is the coach for that matter. Not even my old friend Merril Triplett could bui...
