Re: Northwest Youth Soccer 3 v 3

I am going to put U-15 and U-8 team in this league, do we know of any other teams in and where are they from?

Re: 2012 season is approaching

socman, agree with you. I believe SOC II will be a battle this year. I think Waverly will still be the team to beat. Heard they been playing futsal this winter. Haven't had chance to go watch them. Some of the Northwest kids being more active in offseason which should start to show next few years. S...

Re: 2012 season is approaching

I'm getting excited, soccer around the corner. I think people should keep eye out for Northwest. They did lose some strong players this year but also played a lot of underclassmen. They do have a very strong group of freshmen coming in. With Coach Keeney and Amburgey they are improving. In 2-3 years...

Re: Northwest Youth Soccer 3 v 3

I love the 3v3 style. Forces the kids to control the ball. Great game for kids working on foot work with ball. I will be getting my team together soon.

Re: Spring soccer leagues

3v3 leagues will be in Waverly and Northwest. Great programs ran by some good people. Competitive but still friendly. Greatly enjoyed it last year.

Re: Area spring leagues

Waverly YMCA has 3v3 in spring and Northwest plans on putting another 3v3 league together again this year. Took teams to both last year and was very pleased by both. Well run programs that has the kids in mind. Plus had college players for referees and they did excellent job.

Re: Adults or kids as official score board operators?

I have kept the clock and books for games in the past and have messed up, it happens more frequently than people realize. The real issue should be how the adults react when it happens. I do not think it is right to put a kid/teenager in that position where they will have adults screaming at them. We...

Re: Big News coming this summer

Love to see playoff, eliminate few of regular season games. git rid of powerhouse schools playing D II schools, they are scrimmages anyway. They wait 3 weeks or more for national championship game so there is time to have playoffs, especially if start one week early. If make it were each conference ...

Re: What going on in the Northwest Mohawk Land.

The issues at NW go further back than HS. I have some issues with Coach Scarberry but those are not the problem going on at NHS. It does not matter how good or bad a coach is, if the kids you get at highschool level have not been taught basic fundamentals you are going to have hared time winning. I ...

Re: Southern Ohio soccer club

I believe there would be interest in club ball in the area, sport is growing rapidly. My kid plays up in Chillicothe and there is a lot of interest from local kids about going up there to play. Not to take anything away from Scioto Soccer League, good league and improving at that, but you are not go...

Re: Top 10 8th grade boys programs.

Sorry to say that I have only seen couple of Junior High games this year. But I was shocked to see size difference in the teams. Some of these kids look like they should be freshman and sophmores not 7th and 8th graders. Talked to some of the parents and found out that they hold them back for sports...

Re: Select Soccer

There is a club team in Chillicothe, you can go to firstcapitalfc.com I put my boy in it and the competition is a lot better. They play 8v8 at U-11 and U-12 age group and focus more on handling the ball. Seen lots of improvement in all the kids throughout the season.
