A look after meters started in the SEOAL

1980 seems to be the first year the SEOAL went to all meters in the running events at the league meet.
1981 was the first year that someone went under 10:00.00 in the 3200 and this was Hagerman from Athens with a time of 9:59.6. In the last 31 years it has been done 10 times and it has been done five times in the last six years. The league has had ten runners go under 10:00.00 and only one go under 9:45.00.

In the 200 meters it took nine years to go under 23.00 and 23 years for someone go under 22.00. Only one person has gone under 22.00 and that was Brown from River Valley at 21.9.

It took three years for someone to go under 2:00.00 in the 800 and over 31 years and it has be done only five times.

The 4x400 took seven years to go under 3:30.00 and it has only been done five times in all.

In the 400 it took 23 years to go under 50.00 and it has only been done twice.

It took 19 years to go under 44.00 in the 4x100 and this has been done only four times.

The 1600 only took two years to go under 4:30.00 and only six have done this and only once has someone to go under 4:20.00.

In the 100 it took 13 years to go under 11.00 and it has only been done five times.

The 110 hurdles had to wait 14 years for someone to go under 15.00 and this has been done 5 times.

4x800 took 6 years to go under 8:20.00 and this has been done 27 times. Two runners have gone under 8:10.00 and one under 8:00.00.

Only five hurdlers have gone under 40.00

The 4x200 has been run under 1:32.00 one time.

Only one time has the discus been thrown over 170 feet with it been throw over 60 feet 5 times.

The shot put has been thrown over 60 feet twice.

Only 4 times has the long jump gone over 22 feet

Eight time the high jump has gone over 6' 5".

One person has vaulted 15 feet and three has gone over 14 feet.

The triple jump had two jump over 44 feet.


Girls

In the shot put there has been four throws of 40 plus feet with the first in 1991 by Smith of Logan 42' 00 1/2".

In the high jump only Ross from Marietta has gone over 5' 4" and that was 5' 5"

There has been three vaults of over 10 feet in the pole vault--10' 6"--10' 8" and 10' 10".

The long jump has had seven jumps over 17' 0"

Eight times the 4x800 has gone under 10:00.00 with the first being 9:58.00 by Athens in 1986.

In the discus 140 feet has been topped three times with 1991 being the first year by Smith of Logan at 145' 6"

There has been three sub 12.50 in the 100 meters first being in 1997 by Sibley of Gallipolis--12.41

In the 100 hurdles there has been four sub 15.50. Mays from Logan had the first in 1993 at 15.20

The 4x200 has had three sub 1:47.00 with the first being 1986 by Marietta at 1:46.50

Twice the 1600 has gone under 5:15.00. The first being Nehus from Gallipolis 5:14.87

Five times the 4x100 has gone under 51.00 and Gallipolis had the first in 1997 at 50.79.

17 times the 400 has been clocked under 1:00.00--Copeland of Waverly being the first in 1981 at 59.30.

The 300 hurdles has been clocked under 46.0 twice with Mays from Logan doing it first in 1994 at 45.8.

A sub 2:25.00 in the 800 has been done 6 times with Pittman of Logan being the first with a timing of 2:21.00 in 1986 and is still the #1 time.

One person has gone under 25.50 in the 200 and that is Megan Osborne of Chillicothe.

Two clocking has been recorded in the 3200 under 11:30.00 with the first being Wiseman of Gallipolis at 11:29.10.

The 4x400 has been under 4:10.00 3 times with Athens doing it first in 1997 at 4:08.70.
