The meet is completelty full and Warren's boys were a little late in registering for it - so as of this minute they are not running. They are trying to get in - but it doesn't look good.

On a positive note - Cleveland Heights is signed up to run, everyone should enjoy watching them run.

Just search Marietta College Track and Field, and click on High School Meets (middle left) - the complete performance list for Sunday's meet is there.

Anybody know the correct schedule for this meet? I have seen one stating running event start at 1:00 and the other says 10:00am.

What teams are going to have throwers at this meet? Does anyone know if Ironton will have any throwers at this meet?

Warren ran as unattached - River City Speed. 4 x 8 finished second to Cleveland Heights (last years State Record holding DI Champ - with 3 legs back) by .02 secs. Majoy ran his 1st 800 since last June. Hall edged Cantley by a nose hair w/ a lean at the finish.

What was Warren's time? What time of day did they run?
I know Cantley played in a basketball tourney...may have been a little tired.

Warren ran 8.27 and some change. I think Cantley was around 2.02, Majoy and Wilson 2.08, and Richards 2.09. They have done zero speed work to this point - heck this was Majoy's first race since the State Championship last year. Cleve Heights was not in shape either - last year they ran 7.41 and some change at State, and 3 of those 4 ran at Marietta yesterday. However, the Hall guy - their final leg - has the fastest 800 indoor time in the country this year - 1.52.

Should be an exiting track season in Vincent this year!

Sounds like Warrens distance crew is right where they want to be before starting the outdoor season. Once they all get into their top shape, this 4x800 team might be running for a state championship as i believe they are one of the only teams returning all 4 runners from last year. Time will tell how they do, while not really running against much top competition in the regular season, and they continue to improve.

I think they will be right there too.

Why doesn't Warren schedule more class teams?

i think the fact that Warren doesnt go to alot of larger meets has to do with the AD not really caring about track or cross country. They are not concerned about improving the level of the team and as far as their concerned, the team is great. Its just like the fact that until about 5 years ago, Warren didnt have Junior high track. Now that they do, they are getting better and better, but for years they didnt want to spend the time or money having a team. Even though these have been the best teams in the school in recent history and maybe ever, they still go to the same local, low level competition meets. It also has something to do with the fact that even though the distance squad has been pretty amazing recently, the rest of the team such as field events, sprints, and so on have not always been as good. So taking the whole team to a high competition meet is sometimes a waste of time. That being said Warren still goes to some good meets, John Glenn is pretty good, and of course the SEOAL is always a tough meet.
