I haven't typed them up yet. I plan to do them tomorrow at lunch.

Just for the record though, the time SHOULD be recorded as 1:31.8. It was hand timed and all times are rounded up to the next tenth. Only FAT results (Fully Automated Times) are reported to the hundredth.

Sorry to disappoint the boys... Now if they run that or better at regional or state, it should be in FAT time. Of course FAT times are usually 0.24 seconds slower on the average so they have to run slightly faster to get the 'same' time (ie this time converts to ~1:32.04 if timed by a FAT system.)

Hopefully that wasn't too confusing.

Here is the 4x200m Relay team:

I won't make the finals of the district and I don't think I will make any of the regional meet at Byesville this year. So they will just have to make it to the state so I CAN take more pictures.

The current school record is 1:31.86 in FAT timed and yesterday's race was 1:31.8 in hand time. Based on what Coach Johnson has done in the past is 'tie' the record even though the FAT time race was actually the quicker run race. I believe that the Burg 300m intermediate hurdles record is listed that way on the record board with both a similar FAT time and Hand Time listed for two different hurdlers.

But the boys just need to break the stupid record when FAT timed and there won't be any confusion or need to list both record time! Either better than 1:31.86 FAT or 1:31.6 or better hand timed.

Don't drop the baton and don't run out of the zone without the baton!

I watched that last record--and have those pictures some place, I am sure... That was one pretty race! And it helped secure a regional championship--the only one in boys track that Wheelersburg has won.

2004 Regional at Lancaster (Division III):

1 Wheelersburg 1:31.86
1) Brian Stephenson 11 2) Josh Pascal 12
3) Matt Ruggles 12 4) Bryan Craft 11

There were some corrections in the scoring (ie. Waverly was shorted six points on the girls' total) and of course the times had to be corrected to account for being hand-timed:

Anyone know the first name for Waverly's Britenbach?

Tigercat1--in the results you posted, you have Rowlands of Minford 8th in the girls' discus. It was Rolands of South Webster on the results and in the program (I got the same results as you and they cut off her school but I also got a copy of Wheelersburg's book and they agreed with the program.) Unfortunately, there is no Rolands on South Webster roster that I have so I don't have a first name. I kind of wondered if it was a typo and really was Rawlins instead who threw earlier in the year for South Webster. At any rate, Heather Jenkins and Kelly Boldman were listed as throwing discus for Minford in the SOC program.

drrabbitt,

Breitenbach's first name is Lauren.

I almost e-mailed you Friday and asked if you had copies that weren't cut off, but I didn't have enough hours in my day. Thank you for posting the corrections.

I didn't round the times either. :(

Tigercat1--Don't worry about it! You are always one of my heros! I appreciate all you have done for track! :-D

I regularly correct the times when I type and especially these since this is the SOC championship meet, I wanted to be accurate for posterity--LOL. The officials usually would have taken care of rounding the times at the meet but Snuffy didn't realize they were recording to the hundredth until near the end of the meet and it would have been a lot to correct. Since the team scores were not that close, they didn't worry about it. But if done properly, there are two ties in the running events. The two boys from Minford in the 400m were in different heats and their times round to the same time--but doesn't change the team score. The girls' 400m has the same case in 7th and 8th places. The girls times also round to tying times with the runners having run in seperate heats. That correction would make minor changes in the Wheelersburg and Western scores.

Also, Thanks for the first name. Lauren was the only event winner for whom I was missing the first name. I need to check the Waverly website for rosters.

And also thanks basketballparent. If it is Rawlins then the first name is Cynthia. :) Unfortunately, it was spelled Rolands on both the SOC program and the official results and I wasn't comfortable changing it without someone who knew confirming it. After all, there are people with the last name of Rolands and one may go to South Webster. (Of course we all know there is an entire clan--or two--of Rawlins in the South Webster area!!!)
