2016 Track Out Look-OVC-B&G

Post by noreply66 »

100M-Boys

C. Fletcher of Chesapeake goes into the season with the best time. Dawson-Bryant will have three sprinters in the top ten. South Point will have two sprinters in the top six. D. Richerson of Portsmouth might shock some this year. Top five times are from 11.49 to 11.87.

South Point was 1st and 4th, Chesapeake 2nd and 7th, Portsmouth 3rd, Fairland 5th, Gallipolis 6th and 8th,

100M-Girls

Portsmouth's L. Shipley might be the fastest girl in Southeastern Ohio this spring. But do not count out A. Spaulding of Chesapeake. Also J. Pine of Chesapeake will be one to watch. If Gallipolis runs in the conference meet they should have J. Caldwell and G. Martin competing for a top five spot. Gallipolis will have four sprinters in the top eight and could be a strong 4x100 team. Top five times will be 12.58 to 14.08.

Portsmouth took 1st, Chesapeake was 2nd, Fairland was 3rd and 5th, Gallipolis took 4th and 7th, Dawson-Bryant was 6th and 8th went to South Point

110H-Boys

Right off it looks like C. Stephens from Portsmouth is in a class of his own. I see two South point hurdlers, T. Patterson and B. Carter in the top six. Gallipolis will have two running if they take part in the OVC meet.Top five times are 15.58 to 18.38

Fairland 1st and 2nd, Dawson-Bryant 3rd, Gallipolis 4th, South Point 5th and 8th, Rock Hill 6th and 7th.

100H-Girls

A. Wise from Ironton should be the front runner. Newcomer J. Canfield from Gallipolis might be ready for a breakout year. Ironton will also have H. Keating in the top eight and Fairland will have three in the top eight with C. Brown, M. McNeely and S. Webb. M. Walk from Portsmouth and A. Stewart will be in the thick of things. Top five times are 17.77 to 19.58.

Gallipolis 1st and 6th, Fairland 2nd and 3rd, Chesapeake 4th, Ironton 5th, Dawson-Bryant 7th and Portsmouth 8th

200M-Boys

Could very well have four competing for the top spot. D. Richards of Portsmouth, C. Fletcher of Chesapeake, T. Henry of Dawson-Byrant and S. Wagner of South Point. Ironton will have D. McAllister and T Milleson in the top six. Top five times will be from 23.35 to 25.03.

Portsmouth was 1st and 7th, South Point 2nd and 3rd, Ironton 4th and 5th, Gallipolis 6th, Fairland 8th.

200M-Girls

Looks like it could be another race between Shipley of Portsmouth and Spaulding of Chesapeake. Gallipolis will have four in the top ten which could make a 4x200. Gallipolis will also have two in the top five, M. Oiler and G. Martin. Chesapeake will also have K. Romans competing for a top six position. Top five times are 25.92 to 28.79. Eight girls have times under 30.00.

Portsmouth was 1st, Gallipolis took 2nd and 4th,Fairland 3rd, and 8th, Dawson-Bryant 5th, South Point took 6th, Chesapeake 7th.

300H-Boys

Portsmouth looks to have a one/two punch in the 300h with A. Brown and C. Stephens. South Point's T. Patterson could very easy be the top hurdler come conference time. South Point will also have B. Carton trying to get in the top five. The top nine really are not that far apart. The top five times are 44.02 to 45.44.

South Point 1st, Fairland 2nd and 3rd, Gallipolis 4th and 6th,Dawson-Bryant 5th, Rock hill 7th and 8th.

300H-Girls

Gallipolis will bring in the top two hurdlers with M. Oiler being one of the best in the area along with J. Canfield. A. Wise from Ironton will give Canfield a run for 2nd and S. McFann of Rock Hill and S. Marcum from South Point should battle for 4th place. Top five times are 45.38 to 56.37.

Gallipolis 1st and 5th, Fairland 2nd and 3rd, Ironton 4th, Portsmouth 6th and 7th, no 8th

400M-Boys

C. Fletcher from Chesapeake will have the best time but you will not beable to count out I. Lester and K. Crisenberry of Gallipolis. Gallipolis will also have Z. Bokal and these boys just might have a heck of 4x400 team. South Point will have S. Wagner and G. Stephens.
Top five times will be 51.01 to 54.80.

Chesapeake 1st and 3rd, Gallipolis 2nd and 6th, South Point 4th and 7th, Rock Hill 5th, Dawson-Bryant 8th

400M-Girls

Once again L. Shipley from Portsmouth will be a favorite. Gallipolis will have two in the top 10 but their times will not be close to Shipley and then no other girl in the OVC will.
Dawson-Bryant will enter two in C. Curry and B. Moore. With G. Martin of Gallipolis in the top ten it will also make a good start on a strong 4x400 team. Top five times..57.44 to 1:07.91.

Portsmouth was 1st and 4th, Gallipolis took 2nd and 8th, Chesapeake was 3rd, Dawson-Bryant took 5th, Fairland 6th, South point 7th

800M-Boys

Gallipolis will have the top two time with I. Lester and K. Crisenberry. They will also have C. Mason and Z. Bokal in the top ten. looks like a nice 4x800. Looks like Portsmourh will be the only other team with more than one runner in the top ten with T. McKensie and T. Trinidad. Top five times are 1:57.52 to 2:11.36.

Gallipolis 1st and 7th, Chesapeake 2nd and 6th, Rock Hill 3rd, Fairland 4th and 5th,Ironton 8th

On the boys side I see five teams being real close at the end.
Chesapeake
Portsmouth
Dawson Bryant
Gallipolis
South Point

I see the OVC newest member being right there to the end but with some good freshman this year I will give the edge to Dawson-Bryant.

For the girls you might want to get out the record books because I see the new kids on the block racking up 200 plus points. Could very well be in the area of a 130 point victory for Gallipolis. Portsmouth to edge out Chesapeake for 2nd. Fairland, South Point and Dawson-Bryant will fight for 4th place. Rock Hill will finish a dozen point up on Ironton.

Sure looks like someone was way off. Who won both boys and girls?
