SVC Girls 2018 & preview

Post by noreply66 »

2018 Conference Champion Zane Trace.....Right off this team graduated a ton of points. Most of them scored by 5 girls. Events that took a big hit are 400,200,high jump,1600, pole vault,800. But with their depth the 800,pole vault,1600,400, will return around 32 points. In the field events ZT will need to find help in the high jump and long jump. The hurdles still looks good in the 300 but not in the 100h. Sprints look like they might be a little better than average. 800,1600 and 3200 look like solid events. Relays look very strong.

Runner up Unioto…..Graduated around 33% of last years points. Mostly from 3 girls that will be missed at Unioto. Hardest hit events where 1600,3200,discus,Shot put. Strongest events for 2019 should be 100m, 4x100, 300 hurdles, Field events look a little bit better than average. Sprints look good. Might be a small problem with the 400. Hurdles shouldn't be a problem. Distances events look average.

Westfall.....This team didn't graduate too many points. Only three girls graduated that scored points in the conference meet and that was in the area of 17. Field events are split some what with being good in the shot put, Long jump and not very good in the rest Hurdles look a little thin. 200 and 400 look good in the sprints with help needed in the 100. The 800,1600,3200 won't show much in 2019. The relays don't seem to be anymore than average.

Huntington....This team didn't graduate a lot and they don't have too much coming back. What they have coming back in the field events will not put very many points in the book. Don't see much in the hurdles after the 100h. Nothing in the sprints. Very little in the 800,1600and 3200. Relays might be average.

Adena…..graduated a couple girls that scored points in the conference meet. Will score more points in the field events come 2019.In the hurdles it look like only the 100 will put points in the book. Don't see much in the sprints other than the 100 meters. The 1600 and 3200 should pick up points. Should score in all the relays

Piketon.....Will be another down year for these girls. They do look like they have a good 300 hurdler, high jump and shot put look average. Relays will bring lower half points

Southeastern...This team lost a bunch to graduation. Probably in the area of 70/75 points. Unless they have a lot of talent coming up this team just find themselves at the bottom of the SVC meet come 2019.

Paint Valley.....Lost a couple of girls that took only about 7 points with them. Field events have a chance to do well. Just depends what the other teams graduated. Hurdles should do a little better next season. Sprints will be just a little under average. Not much will come from the 800, 1600,3200. relays will be under average.

Out look for 2019 looks like a battle between Zane Trace and Unioto. With Zane Trace graduating 30 plus points more than Unioto and both having about the same numbers coming back it might depend on what the 2018 8th graders can send to the varsity. Westfall looks like they will have 3rd place all to themselves. Huntington, Paint Valley and Piketon will have a good battle for 4th..Adena will be number 7. Southeastern just lost too much to get out of the cellar.

In the SVC Unioto and Westfall will be the schools that have a better chance to send help to the varsity right off. Out of the rest of the schools Huntington looks like they may struggle giving the varsity help. Overall conference looks like they are close to each other with talent.
