Unioto….. had 4 boys graduate that scored point in the 2018 conference meat. This was 31/35 points. Field events look good for 2019 but the Long jump will need some help. Hurdles will be under average. The sprints will be good. 800,1600 and the 3200 will be some of the best in SEO. All relay teams look strong too.
Paint Valley.....This team lost more than most teams with graduating 6 boys that scored in the area 66 points. This is about the same that will return for 2019. Nearly half the point they lost came from the field events. Will return a good hurdler for the 1110/300. 400 will need some help but the other sprints will be strong. Don't see much in the 800, 1600 or 3200. Relays will be done quite a bit..
Zane Trace.....Lost a lot to graduation. Field events over all will be average. Hurdlers will be better than average. Sprint look about average with the 400 looking real good. 800/1600 are average but the 3200 will need some help. Relays will have a good 4x4 and 4x2. The 4x800 will need to replace three runners
Adena...this team lost 3 to graduation and along with them about 17 points. About half of what they are returning will be in the field events. Hurdles look like a no show. Sprints won't show much either. 1600 will be a little under average which will be more than the 800/3200. Relays look near average
Southeastern.....didn't graduate too much. In the area of 11 points. High jump and long jump will pick up big point where as the other might not pick up anything. Hurdles may get shut out. 100 meters looks like the only sprint that could pick up points. Relays will be down with the 4x1 and 4x2 being the strongest. 800, 1600 and 3200 will need a lot of work.
Westfall.....They only lost a couple of boys and just about have the same team back. Pole vault looks to be the strongest field event with the shot out having a chance to move up from last year. They will look real strong in the hurdles. Don't see a whole lot in the sprints. Very little when it comes to the 800, 1600 and 3200. Will be below average in the relays.
Huntington.....Only see one boy that graduated with scoring points last year. Discus and shot put look to be the bright spots in the field events. 300 should pick up points for the hurdles. 100 and 200 are just a bit under average for the sprint and nothing in the 400. 800 might do something but nothing in the 1600/3200. Relays will get points but they will be lower half points
Piketon.....4 boys left with around 16 points and they return with a little more than that. Pole vault looks like it will be the only field event to get points at the conference meet in 2019. Nothing in the hurdles. Sprints might do better than last year. 3200 looks to be the only one to score out of three longer races. Lower half points coming in all relays.
Looks like 2019 will be all Unioto with over 100 points returning. Next will be between Paint Valley and Zane Trace Only a few points separate them on paper so it might come down to what the new boys will do. Westfall and Southeastern are the next two and it might be the same with them on how the in coming freshmen do. I will say the same with Huntington, Adena and Piketon.
Unioto and Zane Trace MSs look even when sending help to the varsity. Both have by far the strongest teams on the SVC. Southeastern and Huntington look better than the average SVC team. The rest of the SVC are real close to each other when saying they can help the varsity. No one team looks bad.
