SOC Girls 2018 & Preveiw

Post by noreply66 » Sun Jul 01, 2018 9:32 pm

Wheelersburg score 172.50 points in winning the SOC for 2018. Looks like they graduated in the area of 50 points. Events that took the biggest hits were....100h, 300h, 200M, Long jump, High jump. 45 points graduated from these 5 events, but at the same time 26.50 will return from the same events. 2019 looks like this for returning. Field events look good. Mainly in the Discus and shot put where they will have two girls return in both events. Hurdles lost the conference winner but the third place finisher returns. Sprints look in great shape with 30 points coming back. They will need to do some work with the 800,1600,3200. as zero points was scored in 2018. Relays will have 35 points returning for 2019.

Number two Waverly finished with 145.50 points and lost about 77 to graduation. That is better than 50% of what they scored. With Waverly they shouldn't worry too much as they mostly replace what graduates. Biggest hit with graduation was the 400, 200, 3200, Long Jump, 100m. These 5 events lost close to 50 points with only 15 returning. 2019 looks like this. Field events will be above average. Sprints will be average. Hurdles could be hurting if they can't find someone. 3200 won't show too much but 800 and 1600 will do just fine. Relays look average when put together, but the 4x1 and 4x2 will be good.

Northwest had a good season in 2018 coming in third scoring 92 points. Graduated close to one third of this. Mostly in the 400 and 800. These two events still return half of what they lost. The two best events will return all points. 2019 should look like this. Field events...High jump will be solid. Long jump and Shot put will be average. Discus will need some work. Sprints could need some help in the 400 and 200. Hurdles won't show much. 800, 1600 and 3200 will pick up points but those will be in the lower half. Relays.. the 4x800 should do well but the others below average

South Webster.....this team lost two thirds of its 2018 points while only scoring in 11 events. Lost both runners for the 3200 and their only runner that scored in the 1600. 2019....Field events may not score if they don't do some work. Hurdles could be around average. Sprints a little under average. 800, 1600 and 3200 will be hurting big time. Relays 4x1 and 4x2 will be their best

Valley.....didn't graduate too many points. In the field events they will solid in the discus and shot put. Point here will be in the lower half. Sprints will be below average. should beable to pick up points in the 800 and 1600. Relays should move up from 2018.

Oak Hill.....lost a lot in the 800 and 1600 and it might be a little difficult scoring in the 3200. Field events overall will be average. Hurdles will also be average. See nothing in the sprints. 4x4 might be the only relay team that scores

Minford.....Looks like Minford will be struggling in 2019. Only scored in six events. 4x8, 100 m, 4x2, 4x1, 200m long jump look like the events they will score in for 2019.

West....Another down year for West. Will do well in the 4x1, 4x1, 200,

Green.....Hurdles don't look too bad

Clay.....Looks like they may score in 5/9 events and all lower half points

Eastern does what it can

I'm seeing Burg winning in 2019. Might not be 170 plus points but the win looks like a easy one. Taking a little gamble here and going with Northwest for second place All depends on what Waverly can add. Waverly has a lot to make up and will fall short and take third. Looking for a battle between South Webster, Oak Hill and Valley for forth. If South Webster can find help in the field event forth place will be theirs. What ever happens between the three it just might be 6 points between them. Minford will get the seventh place followed by West, Green, Clay and Eastern

No team ran away with the MS title but Minford and Burg looks like they won't have too much trouble with helping the varsity. Other than Notre Dame, West and Green everyone will put some good MS girls out with the varsity.
